A man called from Cambridge, MA from phone number (617) 714-0762 stating he was with the Treasury Department. He stated that I qualified for a $9.200.00 grant that never had to be re-paid due to having no bankruptcy, felonies and paying bills and taxes on time. He stated that I met the Treasury Department qualifiations and was randomly selected of the 1,500 picked to receive this grant. He verified my name, zip code and age. He ask what I would use the money for. He also ask if I wanted funds sent MoneyGram or deposited into my bank account. I stated that I wanted a MoneyGram. He also ask what I would use the money for and I stated to pay bills and for my business. He ask if I was self employed also. He gave me a code of CD005 and ask me to call (206) 629-6050 and speak with George Steward.

I called the number and a man ask how he could help. I ask for George Steward and he stated that he was that man. I gave him the code and he verified my name. He stated that in order to be sure that I was a US citizen that I would need to purchase a I-tunes card in the amount of $199.00 and listed several MoneyGram locations. I stated from a Wal-Mart around 5 miles away. He stated that once they receive the I-tunes tracking number that a MoneyGram would be issued for the $9,200.00 and the $199.00 for a total of $9,399.00. I ask what I needed to do. He stated to call him and he would guide me through the I-tune process from the store location to obtain tracking. I respnded that this was fraud that he was commiting and that I was rteporting the fraud and hung up.
