I was in need of a bucket truck, I have been in the tree business for almost 20 years and finally I decided to make the small leap to expand. I shopped around and found what I was looking for here.
I called and spoke with Joe on the phone, it was harsh and abrupt but I am too so I was ok with that. After reading all of the harsh reviews though I was hesitant. I shopped around a bit more, I spoke with a finance company that normally dealt with them. The person I worked with at Oakmont financial (finance company) was DJ. Well I know now dont trust either of them. DJ agrees Joe is harsh but he does GREAT work.
After talking to DJ a couple of times and him convincing me that Joe did good work I took the plunge on March 1st I paid Joe a deposit. He told me to get everything ready and in a month the truck would be ready. Well after many details that I wont get into here about the finance company and DJ , I still had no truck although I had paid the deposit and was approved for a loan by March 2nd, 2017.
JUNE1, 2017- I get a call he truck is finally ready to be picked up. I made the mistake of thinking it was going to be in great shape since it took 3 months to get instead of the one month promised .
On June 2nd I take the 3 hour ride to get the truck. After going over as much as Joe allows you to (not much at all) before taking it he tells me the clutch is no good BUT he has the parts and will write me a check for the $600 labor to get that fixed other than that i should have no problem! Great I take the parts and the check and call the mechanic and let them know I will bring it straight to them.
Well little did I know I wouldnt make it all the way....I live in Upstate NY --- Joe is in PA--- I never made it out of NJ before the drive train falls out of the truck right on the highway. I call Joe. He tells me to have it towed back to my shop and he will pay the tow bill and whatever else needs to be fixed. Ok but I warn him the tow bill is $500. He says fine. Ok well I tow it back (yes $500) and gets parts and get everything fixed. Ok so stay with me June 2nd I pick it up it breaks down I tow it to NY. June 17th the parts are in and repaired. Great. I start using it. June 18th I email Joe all the bills he replies back right away apoligizing and telling me his wife will send out a check the next day. I even have the email!
That was June 19th. July 11th on my way to a job the truck breaks down again and I have it towed to the mechanic and he tells me that the fuel injectors are bad! Really ?? So what has Joe done with the truck in the 3 months he had it .....as far as I can tell only paint.
I couldnt even get them to answer me to get the correct bill of sale because the one they gave me wasnt signed so I couldnt register the vehicle I hadto call the finance company and harass them to go get it for me.
I get that fixed I email Joe and let him know. Needless to say i HAVE NOT heard a word from Joe since that emailing saying he will send me the check in the morning.....did i get that check? NO . I have now made 2 insurance payments and 1 truck payment on a truck that has run for only 27 days. Not even a full month. I have invested an additional $4817.97 in repairs just to get the truck running.
there is rust on the truck and no proof the booms were ever die electric tested as promised so that will cost me another $750 to get the tested and get the proper stickers on there as proof they were inspected.
