Turbo Buys Ripoff, Bait and switch Brooklyn New York
I order a Canon EOS XT camera body. I was called to confirm my order and pressured to buy a warranty and extra battery. I was very explicit in stating that I did not want either. The salesperson acknowledged my refusal and shipped the order.
When I received the order it was for $350 more than the order confirmation email I had received earlier. They had shipped the battery and added the warranty. When I called them they would not allow me to just return the battery and warranty. They required me to return the entire shipment. They charged my VISA for the entire amount.
I used the shipping label they emailed me and returned the camera. When I contacted them several days later they asked if I wanted a refund and I told them I wanted what I ordered. I was told the camera had not come back and that they couldn't do anything until that time. I contacted DHL and found out the camera had arrived two days earlier. When I provided this information to Turbo Buy they were willing to give me a refund. By this time I didn't want to hassle with them anymore about the camera. I found a reputable dealer whose price was comparable and ordered from them. I will file this information with the FBI's internet fraud unit that is available at FBI.gov.
