We bought a home from Twinmark, Great construction, but wasn't completed after we closed. We had made an agreement with the builder himself that we would close before November only if they were willing to buy out the rest of our lease. Justin Arnold agreed and was going to take the amount off of the price of the house, but we weren't able to come up with three months worth of rent to pay the landlord of the previous lease. So they changed the price back to the original amount financed and said they would cut us a check after we closed. Well, guess what, we closed and no check.

After several calls and voicemails left, still no answer from Justin. We were able to get a sales manager named Roland. Roland told us that Justin was going to meet us at the sales office on Monday after we had closed and give us a check. Justin never showed. Back to calling again. Our neighbor was the construction manager for Twinmark and we asked him what was going on. He said he thought they were going under. Wednesday, after we closed on the house, we talked to our neighbor and he said he didn't get paid. Thursday we found out that the checks written to the cleaning crew bounced and that our neighbor had been laid off.

As far as the house goes, we still have a cracked window that needs replacing, a switch that goes to nothing, I had to finish hooking up the disposal in the sink, the fence is missing a corner fence post, the shower only gets lukewarm and the AC needs to be balanced for the house. Hell, I even had to re-key my own locks from the master key. We don't have any information about the amenity centers, card keys for the community pool or contacts for the HOA.

I'm being sued by the former landlord for breaking lease because I can't pay both the house payment and rent. I sent an e-mail to Justin and the reply was to call Joyce Lindhauer who happened to be a Bankruptcy Attorney. Thanks a lot Twinmark.

Wasn't wrong to begin with, in light of new information. First part of HOA dues were never paid and yet another contractor has tried to place a lein on our house for non payment of materials by the builder. I am starting to think that paperwork was falsified to enable the closing of the house to take place. I think other buyers with the same problems need to contact the Attorney General and the Texas Association of Builders.

I may have jumped the gun.

I may have jumped the gun. It seems that Twinmark wasn't actually going out of business. They, along with thousands of other companies, are trying to stay a float and are working with all of their customers and contractors. Justin Arnold called my wife today and said that they would be able to get us the money we had agreed upon in closing for the satisfaction of our previous lease. Even though I was a little ticked off about the way it happened, if we are able to receive that, I would be satisfied. Things are slowly being taken care of on our house and the minor ones I am sure will eventually be taken care of. I must say that I absolutely love my house and the construction is awesome. If it had been explained to me in the beginning about the financial troubles of a company fighting to stay alive, I probably would have never written this at all. We are supposed to visit the Lawyers office to sign a paper stating we will not provide any more negative information about Twinmark Homes and I do not have a problem with that. I however have learned a good lesson and will not sign anything again until the money is done. Justin and Matt Arnold were only trying to do what anyone else would, Stay in business and not sacrifice the Integrity of their company name. I don't blame them for that, I would have done the same.
