Ugg boots are everywhere and there are fraudulent web sites waiting to lure shoppers with false advertising and debit/credit card charges.  "uggusbootsclearance.com" looks as authentic as any of the other Ugg sites.  The ugg boots displayed in living color look genuine, but this company is advertising "Boot Sale; Ugg Boots Overstock Clearance".  Why not...Spring is just around the corner.  Right?  Wrong!

I ordered two (2) pairs of Classic Short Ugg Boots, and since they were "Overstock Clearance", they were reduced to $80.00 each.  Don't laugh...this deceptive operation already did... all the way to my bank.  I tried using my credit card which is a Mastercard, and it was denied saying, they would only take VISA.  Well, I have a VISA credit/debit card, and " UGG fever" possessed whatever common sense I had, so I no sooner put in the credit card information, and a page came up saying "transaction could not go through."

I felt a heaviness in my gut and immediately called my bank's 24-hour customer service fraud line.  Within seconds of putting in my debit/credit card information, a company in Shanghai, China  called "Wolan Technology Comp" had taken $176.58 from my account.  Needless to say I put a hault on my card, and also cancelled my Mastercard.

I was told by my bank to go back to the site and try and find a "Contact Us" number. I emailed [email protected], but it would not go through.  Sometime later while checking my emails I noticed an email from [email protected] "RE:  Receive Payment."  It said, "We already got your payment and confirmed your order.  Pls don't worry  We are preparing the goods to you now.  Order number will follow."

I immediately wrote back and said I believed the site to be a fraud and wanted to cancel the order. I asked who "Wolan Technology Comp was, and she wrote back saying, "We are serious suppliers.  All boots in our shop are clearance sale. It sells good about our boots in Europe and America, then We have thousands of orders everyday. We can promise the quality for you."

Rebecca and I emailed daily, but I could not talk my way out of this mess.  Finally, three weeks later my postal carrier delivers a small to medium size box, totally covered in postal tape, with the heel to one of my boots peeking out of one corner of the destroyed box.  At first I thought " how can two pairs of Ugg boots possibly fit in this box?"  They certainly did, and for the decrepit box...well it did come all the way from Shanghai.

It was obvious from the beginning that I was going to get counterfeit Uggs, but I had no idea how counterfeit they could be.  First and foremost, they did have the UGG Australia emblem on the back of the heel. The uppers looked like sheepskins, but the inside of the boots were not sheepskin wool.  I already expected it to be fur back when I realized that I was swindled.  The real killer though were the soles.  They are sort of shiny like plastic, but look like the soles to the real Uggs.  They are extremely stiff and very hard.  When you walk in them your foot cannot bend, and it feels like you are walking on boards.

Rebecca does not email me anymore.  Our last emails to one another were not very business like to say the least.  I told her that I suspected they were not authentic, plus very uncomfortable and did not fit properly.  Since no paperwork came in the box with a mailing address, I had no idea where they came from even if I wanted to return them for another size.  She pretty much said, too bad.  "We send to you according to your choose.  Thank you."

This is an up-date to my Original Report.  [email protected] did email me back, as well as another representative from their company PinonRebecca, [email protected].  The first email I

 received from Rebecca stated:

" Dear friend,  The bootswe send to you is according to your choose. If you want to return the boots, you need pay the return shipping fee by yourself.when we receive the boots we will return you the money but we need charge you the shipping fee which we have already been charge by ship company. One pair is 40usd,two pairs is 50usd.   Pls reply   thank you

My response was:  "Rebecca,  Thank you.  The boots do not fit.  Please tell me the address to use to return them.  I will pay the shipping back, but I don't believe it cost 50 usd to ship two pair of boots.  The weight was l.454, and my printed bill from your website said the price for two boots were 160 usd plus 10 usd for shipping, with a total of 170 usd. What your billing statement said, and what you say, are not the same.  In any case, 126 usd returned to me is better then nothing.  The packaging label said Shanhai, China, but no address for your factory.  Where do you want me to mail the boots.  I will notify my bank of this transaction. Please reply.  Elizabeth"

Rebecca replied:  "Dear friend   All boots in our shop are free shipping before.but the ship company increase the price of freight.  So we charge the 10usd. In fact the shipping fee is far more than 10usd   we only received you 170usd,the more is handing fee charged by credit card company.when we receive the boots we will retutn you 120usd   Pls reply    thank you"

It was obvious that the story was changing from email to email, so finally after researching how much it would cost me to return the boots to Shanghai, I sent this email:  "I went over all the money that your company took from me.   Now, out of the 176.56 usd that your company took from my account, you are keeping 56.56 usd of it, plus it will cost me at least 50 usd to return the boots.  The total cost that your company "stole" from me is over 100 usd!   This is what your website states:

"Professional Ugg Boots Clearance Website | Easy to Order | Secure Online Shopping | Free Returns"

This is false advertising!  Since I will be out over 100 usd even if I return these boots, it makes more sense for me to donate them to a charity and use it as a tax write-off.   You must be stopped from deceiving other U.S. citizens!  Elizabeth Gallo Eichberg.

Her response to me was: From:  rebecca [email protected]   Date:  Thu, Feb 24, 2011 8:34 pm

"You can donate the goods to a charity.it is  a good thing."
