Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Leased a nice, new CR-V.  A very nice car.  Brought a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4x4 Auto, 6Cyl, Air, Tilt, Cruise, Hard Top, etc. with me as a trade.  KBB said it's worth at least $6500.

I should have been more alert.  They exuded such... honesty.  Unfortunately, it was all a ruse. After the contract was signed, for a little more money than I was really comfortable with, and I got home, I happened to check the documents for payment details on the lease.

Then I noticed.  They took my Jeep, and valued it at $2500.  Minimum KBB for a rusted out, leaky piece of junk was $6500, and it was definitely NOT THAT.  No leaks.  Fresh brakes and shocks.  Not the most beautiful around the plastic and trim, but the metal was all solid and paint was good.

They basically paid out the basic lease starting fees and pocketed the difference for themselves.

I'm so disappointed and angry, not only at them, but at myself for letting them slip that into the contract and not spotting it.  Like a perfectly choreographed dance of distractions.  Now the whole thing just keeps replaying through my head, as I lose sleep getting angrier about it.

And so I'm out about $4000, give or take, even giving them the benefit of the doubt.  I know that valuation is subjective, but it was certainly not a completely worn out piece of crap, as a $2500 valuation would imply.  EVERYTHING worked.  NO LEAKS.  No body damage.  They just robbed me, and I signed the paper and let them do it.

So I don't really care about 'fixing' this.  Legally, I'm boned. So I'm just making sure that every single review site tells the story. It's more important that other people know about this.

Not least for missing this in the contract, which the very smooth operator was extremely skilled at pointing to the bottom of and covering up, but also for dealing with criminals like these people in the first place.  They are conmen, and very good at it.

There is no way to come out ahead in a deal with people whose singular goal is to rip you off.  The best you can ever manage is not to get ripped off so badly, personally, while still supporting these criminals so that they can rip other people off.

Actually, the best you can manage is NEVER TO DO BUSINESS THERE.

Nothing like taking a good brand like Honda, and making the whole deal into a terrible regret and horrible memories that will associate being ripped off, every time I open the door and turn the key, and the idiotic dealer installed 'security system' (which I didn't pay for, but the stolen Jeep abundantly covers) annoyingly honks the horn at the neighbors.

Thanks a lot, Unicars Honda.  For teaching such a valuable 'life lesson'.  Everyone should be burned to the tune of thousands of dollars to provide an example for the world to mock.

What you did is what others do...sign legally, binding contracts WITHOUT reading them!  I would just about bet money, you won't do that again!  What you did here was great...informing others what could happen and the dealers know that exactly.  So then, continue to pass the word along.  Secondly, you got into a CAR FLEASE.  Not good either.  But we'll cover that some other time!
