Complaint against:

expirefish.com (aka registerfly.com, aka entryhost.com)

P.O. Box 2418

Livingston, NJ 07039

Owned by:

UnifiedNames, Inc.

Suite 864

230 Park Avenue

New York, NY 10169

Service purchased:

This company claims to register Internet domain names the instant they become available. This is a common type of service used by website administrators to obtain Internet website names before others can buy them. This company however, took the money, but did absolutely nothing in return. I had to register the domain name myself through my own resources, after the name had been sitting wide open for anyone to purchase for the best part of an entire day.

06/21/2003 - Purchase service from expirefish.com for $19.98

06/23/2003 - Debit paid by my bank

06/26/2003 - Checked domain name availability, found it was available. Checked with expirefish.com, their system said it was not available and had not been registered. Attempted to contact them, but got no reply. Waited until 2pm, but could not risk loosing ownership of key name, so registered the name myself, through another service provider. This proves that the name was indeed available and could have been registered.

06/27/2003 - Sent emails to every email address related to this company that I could find. Most addresses returned undeliverable. None replied.

06/29/2003 - Used online "instant help" facility at related website (registerfly.com) to attempt to get a response. Told to open support request. Did this. Waited 48 hours.

07/01/2003 - Received reply to support request. Asked which email addresses I sent to. No mention of refund issue or failure to provide service. Support issued closed by registerfly person without resolution. I opened a new support issue to try again.

07/13/2003 - requested a physical address from the New Jersey postmaster.

07/27/2003 sent several more emails to thieves

07/27/2003 repeated request to New Jersey postmaster.

07/27/2003 filed complaint with New Jersey consumer people

07/27/2003 - updated federal fraud complaint info online

07/27/2003 wrote to hosting company (located in California) requesting action

07/28/2003 received reply from hosting company thieves replied to them immediately, but ignore me. Hosting company refuses to take action or take any responsibility.

I have continued to contact these people every week. Every week I send messages, and they ignore them. If I contact a live person, I am told the matter will be referred to some other department, and then no one ever replies.

At this point, it is obvious that these people are avoiding taking any responsibility for their actions. After close inspection of their website, I realize now that they are not to be trusted. There are no telephone numbers, physical or PO box addresses, or email addresses listed anywhere on the expirefish.com site. Their address is only available by checking the registration of their domain name. And the accuracy of this is in question.
