Complaint Review: Unique Worldwide Services Inc. - Montgomery Alabama

My son answered a ad in the paper for employment. He went to this company and was hired. He called me and said he had to pay a $75.00 charge to allow them to run a profile check on him because of the money he was going to be handling as a manager. The next day he was approved, Of course. Then he was told he would also need $95.00 to purchase his training kit. He was told he would be required to sell $2000.00 in sales and then he would be elgible for his office. Which would be paid for by the company. Any kind of furniture he wanted and anywhere he wanted it to be. He was so exited and this was his first job. So I gave him the money.

I should have suspected something when he said they would pay him contract labor, which means no taxes withheld. They could not accept credit card either.

I wish I could have found this site before we actually fell for this scam. These people make it sound so good. Company paid trips and party's. The first meeting he went to there were approxiametly 30 people there. Get rich and have plenty of money. Any young person just getting into the real world would want this.

We actually bought products from him, his parents, grandparents and Aunt and Uncle all. I even bought the first 1500.00 myself to help him get his so called manager position.

After he went to the Monday, Wednesday and Friday meetings a few times and made his 2000.00 in sales, he was told he would be required to make another quota of sales of 1000.00 but if he could do 1700.00 it would put him in the top catagory of being first in line and he could then be put in his office as manager. He then came to me and said this would be it. If I would help him he wouldn't have to make any more sales and he could begin his position as a manger. So as uneasy as I felt about this I did it anyway. Please make note that all of this is on credit. They wouldn't take a credit card so I used cash advance convience checks from my credit card.

Was that ever a mistake!! When he went to them after we bought all of this ourselves they told him that another manager was requireing he make another 1000.00 in sales and that would be it. He came to me again and I told him there was just no way I could go anymore. He said he was going to get a loan on the title of his car. It was then I found this site! Thank God!

I then told him to read all the reports for himself before getting in any deeper with this company. He did. Then he talked to someone who had actually made it to the point of becomeing a manager. It is all deceitfulness. He told him you have to lie to your family and friends. It doesn't stop at 2000.00 in sales! It actually takes at least 10,000.00 in sales and then you have to pay 6000.00 to get put in a office as manager. He told my son he got after he got so far in he couldn't back out.

So now I am in debt 3000.00. Alot less than some people. My son did decide not to continue with this company. We were very negligent in not researching before we got involved with this company. My first purchase from this company was Sept. 8, 2002. I have still not recieved anything but have paid them in full. I have called to cancel shipment but they will not cancel. So I am out 3000.00 and nothing to show for it. From what I have read some people have been waiting 9 months and have still not recieved anything.
