Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
If you are looking for a job stay away from any ad that includes "Paid training", "Will train", and if you happen to go in and they ask for money upfront......RUN!!!!!!!

I unfortunately fell for UWSI's scam back in 2001. I wanted to believe so much I put all I had and even some I didn't, into making it through training. I made it all the way to the "Gold Pin" and was days away from signing a contract when I finally got wind of what was truly going on. Let's see if I can outline the inmportant parts for everyone to get a better picture.

1. There is no background check. Their scripts say "We do a background check to make sure there is no fraud or anything bad in your past. It cost $150 but we feel if we are willing to invest $75 in you then you should be welling to invest $75 in yourself, right?" WRONG! I regret the interviewees that I hired, but luckily I warned them when I found out to get out themselves. The background is only to try and make themselves look more legit. Because of course a big company wants all their employees checkouted before handling SOOO much money.

2.Ever wondered why there is to be no sales or negative talk allowed. Because they don't want you to go around letting the rest of the trainees know that you may only have sold $1,000 for your eagle pin, but they've sold $3500 and don;t have anything.

Pins are given out on a "want to" bases. If a manager happens to not have anyone getting a pin Wednesday night based on sales then he might make one up. They don't want anyone to think its not possible to succeed, they want you to feel like "if he can do it so can you".

3.Ever noticed there is no "Sales" people, only "Trainees". That's because you are the sales people. In the time I was working for them there never was a "Sales" interview. And I was there awhile.

4. The "Special Events" that are promoted are just another scam. You don't learn anything more from going to a "Corporate Meeting or EDS" than you do in the normal meetings. And even the meetings are the same each week. Every thing has a script including the meetings, interview, phone, and orientation. the events are just an excuse to drink, get high and trash their "CODE OF ETHICS". (The part under "Harassment" is a joke. They push it to the edge and usually beyond.)

5. Other things such as Cut-offs, Warbooks and President's Club are all things to try and seduce you into giving them more money.

The promises made during cut-offs are worthless. You will never get into an office until you have brought them atleast $10,000 in sales and push the point of finishing.

6. THE ORDER FORM. "7 to 9 weeks for delivery" How about never!!!! Granted some of my customers have gotten their stuff, but several of my larger packages that were ordered have never come. I tried to call, fax and write about them on MANY occasions with no response. ALSO, that Stone Mountain address does not exist. One family did use their exting. and tried to cash in on that so called warranty. No such luck.

In my opinion the Exting. work wonderfully. But all the ones I have ordered the labels are fake and so are the dates. As for the alarms, you can get the same thing (trust me I've checked) at other stores much cheaper. The products are not the problem of this company. Mr. M and Mr. Mac, plus many of the managers are the problem. (Greed is their main problem)

One manager had her office removed during the night without her knowledge by the higher ups, because they were being run out of town. She fortunately helped to start getting the word out about them asap.

The office I was in had checks that bounced (alot), turned their water on themselves(instead through the water company), did not want you to hire well educated people or any one involved with law enforcement.

In several rebuttals to statements made about this company some individuals have actually supported UWSI and I would like to address them.

AMANDA,

Stop being so blind to what is going on around you. I know you want to believe, I did too, but believing doesn't always mean its true. Just take note of what I said and I promise you will start noticing little things that just don't seem right. But please don't jump in before checking out what I said. I would hate for you to be trying to pay off $15,000 of debt that you got trying to achieve that dream.

HEATHER and DONALD,

"Don't be mad at the company, because you failed, be mad at yourself." That is what you said, right? Well I am mad at myself, but not because I didn't make it through the program, but because I DID. I put my trust and faith in these people and they lied and deceived me. I was the top trainee several times, gave speeches, trained new trainees, hired people, did paper work and trusted. All to have it back fire.

When you put your opinions on here, I didn't see you straightening out the facts I just say "your trust" being presented. Explain why some managers just disappear and stop showing up for meetings or why "super trainees" just stop coming when the whole office has been cheering them on about signing their contract soon. Or try explaining why there are no sales people or why the turn over rate is so high in such a "wonderful" company or why the people going to the "special" dinner at EDS's are always the "good-looking","party oriented", "fast" crowd. (No, I'm not jealous. Let's just say I know what I'm talking about.)

I hope this helps others to save their time and money. I lost lots of time and over $15,000, plus some self-respect. Please know that I sympathize with those who did not get out before it was too late and to those who were violated in many ways.

I tried solving my complaints with this company by phone, fax and letter, with no response. All I wanted was the money that was conned from me, but now I want them out of business and warnings posted in every states about them.

I am part of a current lawsuit and many things have come out about them which hopefully will put them behind bars.

I just would like to know why Mr. M, Mr. Mac and managers feel it necessary to destroy others just to support themselves in their nice little black sports cars and fine living.

ATTENTION JANET from Arkansa ..Not only do they deceive their trainees, but drugs and extreme sexual misconduct is at the top of their "to do" list.

It always seems to amaze me when individuals make comments concerning UWSI. I know of 3 current lawsuits with this company just in Alabama. And a large majority of the people involved were working managers with the company. But they started having ethics problems, because they didn't want to continue leading indivdiuals down a path full of lies. As managers we were told not to tell the trainees anything. We were to string them along to get them "hooked" on the American dream, which we knew would take more than what most of them had to invest. When I was involved with this company I want above and beyond what I was suppose to do and made it, but luckily my eyes were finally open to the true nature of the individuals who head this company. Not only do they deceive their trainees, but drugs and extreme sexual misconduct is at the top of their "to do" list. Just remember these few things: 1. Check their BBB rating - their isn't one. They were expelled from the bureau. 2. They do have several lawsuits against them. 3. Over half the time the merchandise is never delivered. If it is it is expired. 4. They never give you straight answers. 5. You will end up selling anywhere from $10-$15,000 before getting an office. (Or rather before they ask you for $6,000 to start and office.) And if you get the office, make sure you are the only one with a key, because they have emptied out several offices in the middle of the night and left town without a word. 6. Their is no Stone Mountain office, if their even still using that line. 7. Also what legit. company changes its name from state to state an only really has 2 head people? I have been out for almost 2 years and I can bet their is still only 1 regional manager and the rest are local managers. There is so much I can write on here, but nothing will change some peoples mind. I guess it will just have to bite you before you call it a snake.
