first, I allows a gentleman to set an appointment for a sales agent to come pitch me why i needed a new roof. 2 days later 2 salesmen show for the appointment, climb my roof inspect it and spend next 2 hours telling me why i needed there roofing system.
They handed me a sales quote... $20k for a roof. I asked why so high when i had 4-5 other quotes in hand for $7k at the highest and there response was they quoted junk.

I politely declined his contract of $20k then he changed the price to $18k. I again declined, he then pulls out a digital camera and shows me a hole in my roof. I was astounished at this as I was up there 2 days prior with another contractor and no issues.

The sales guys then said it's been there for months. I declined his offer to repair the hole for $5k. he left very angry and yelling why did i waste his evening.

The following morning since it was dark when the sales guys left, I went on  the roof to inspect this hole. It was a hole created by someone other then me. I proceeded to repair the damage as a nieghbor yelled over and informed me he watch 2 guys the night before stomping on the roof. I called Unique Home Solutions to report this and was immediately met with hostile customer service rep. He says no way they would do that.
After talking more with my neighbor and his wife, they both confirm the sales guys were stomping on the roof where this hole was now. It had rained the morning of there visit. So I went into the attic and confirmed my suspicions. The attic was dry, not any sign of water leakage.  That hole was created that evening.
I hired a different contractor the following day to repair this hole and to redo my entire roof. I filed a BBB complaint to only get a copy of 2 letters from Unique. Both were from the sales guys stating they didnt create this hole. The BBB closed the complaint without me having a chance to rebuttal.

I have since filed small claims and heard from the Vice President and again he was angry, denying the issue. I had to get sworn statements from my neighbor, the contractor that repaired the damages, and 2 other contractors that confirm the hole was made and if the wood was rotten the shingles would not have be pushed through the whole. As well, they all documents how dry my attic was and the area at question.
 
They could have at leasted offered to repair the hole....

But they rather deny the allegation and use high  sales tactics to close a contract.

It's amazing how with 2 letters written from this company, they can justify there wrong doing.  So.. using your logic on this issue, let's see how it works outs..  Let's say you notice me sneaking into the fridge and eating a sandwich that had your name written on it.. Even though you observed me eating it.. I deny it.. You complain to your boss, he calls me in his office.. i deny it.. I write a letter to him saying I DIDN"T EAT IT.  case closed.. I walk away full belly you walk away minus a sandwich.. cuase that's what's going on here.. you get your estimators to write a letter claiming all this and it's over. 

I'll leave it like this.... It was a $500 repair.  You could have made it right and fixed it. Just remember.. for every happy customer.. they only give you 3 or 4 referals.. for every upset customer.. we tell 10 times that..

In your case.. I made an exception.. It's my goal to tell 2 people a day how you guys tried to strong arm me and stomp a hole in my roof and then after I decline to pay you $20k for a new roof, only then show me the hole and try to again pressure me into the repair.  Just so you know.. the roof was replaced for $10k..

Unique home solutions uses high pressure tactics and unethical estimators.. Stay away, your better of hiring storm chasers to fix your home.

Mr. Hazelwood contacted the Better Business Bureau with this claim. The issue is being handled through the BBB, and the following is the same information we gave to the BBB regarding this situation.

After receiving the complaint from the BBB, the Vice President contacted Mr. Hazelwood by phone to explain the company's stance on the issue. Unique Home Solutions did not and would not cause damage to the home intentionally or accidentally. Mr. Hazelwood claimed over the phone, but not on his BBB complaint, that a witness saw a Unique employee stomp on the roof. Neither of the sales representatives inspecting the roof stomped on the roof. Their statements:

To Whom it May Concern:

I went to Paul Hazelwood's house on March 9, 2012 to give him an estimate for a roof. Part of our service is providing a free inspection. I had Danny Cuvar, who is also a sales representative for Acclaimed Roofing, with me during the presentation. Mr. Hazelwood informed me upon arrival that he had several hail and storm damage, his insurance company had given him a claim check, and that he had had two other companies out to inspect his roof. Mr. Cuvar and I proceeded to inspect his roof, which includes taking pictures of any damage. We found several broken shingles from hail damage and a hole near the chimney where the flashing had pulled away. It was obvious from our vantage point that the chimney flashing had been leaking for some time. We were unable to get down to the chimney due to the steepness of the roof, so I zoomed in from the top of the peak to get pictures. At no point did I do any damage to Mr. Hazelwood's roof by walking on the roof. I have been trained on how to walk on roofs without doing any damage and have never had any issues in the past.

On March 9, 2012, I accompanied Paul Harlow to Mr. Hazelwood's home to give him an estimate on his roof. During our inspection, we found a lot of damage associated with the age of his roof and also some storm damage. We also noticed that by the chimney the flashing had pulled away. Consequently we could see clearly in that same area a clear opening where flashing and shingles had become deteriorated.  No damage was done by myself or Mr. Harlow while walking on Mr. Hazelwood's roof.

The Vice President's statement on his conversation with Mr. Hazelwood:

I explained our position on his complaint. I told him that I talked to Paul and Danny and both signed statements that they did not do any damage to Mr. Hazelwood's roof intentionally or accidentally. He said that a witness said he saw Paul stomp on his roof. I asked when his witness told him this and he said Wednesday evening. I asked him why he didn't include that in his BBB complaint and he said, "Do you want me to resubmit the complaint?" I explained to him that this was pretty important information to leave out. Mr. Hazelwood told me he had two other estimates before ours and I asked him how he knew they didn't do the damage. He said he was up there with them. I explained that we had a picture of the damage next to the chimney that Paul took from a distance due to the slope of the roof. He said the damage was not there before our estimate. Mr. Hazelwood then stated that he already had his entire roof replaced. He said he had an estimate to fix the damage for $800, then later said it was for $600. He said he did not want any money, but wanted us to make it right. I said I didn't know what he meant. I said Paul had been with us for 15 years and we never had any problems like this before. I told him I had given our side to the BBB. He didn't want to hear that and the conversation went down hill from there.
