We also have an AHS warranty contract. They have already sent United here twicc to fix our air conditioner in the past 90 days. Both times we were without air for several days, had to take time off from work to here during our service window of time waiting for them to show up, etc. In the first service call we had to pay almost $500 out of pocket for freon which was not covered by the AHS contract. The second technician (Senior Tech) actually gave me his business card to call him if we had a future problem. He also tried to sell us a service maintenance contract which we declined since they were unable to diagnose and correct the issue the first time.
Now our air stopped working again (third repeat issue) late on Friday afternoon. AHS told us we should hear from United on Saturday AM to schedule emergency service. I also tried to call the Senior Tech directly but he does not answer and message states he never set up his mailbox to accept messages. I called and have left 3 messages on the emergency service number but no response. It is now Sunday AM.
We agree that United is not interested in servicing repeat customers or rework where their technician did not fix the issue correctly the first time if it has to be done on the weekend. Glad we did not buy the service contract! As soon as our AHS contract has expired we will definitely find another HVAC company who is interested in supporting their customers and correcting faulty work (or better yet - doing it right the first time)
Oh, did I mention that the temps are in the mid 90's, humidity is 92%, and the weather forecast is and has been hot and steamy?
