We are customers of United-Bilt Homes. We can provide a copy of our home builders agreement between us and United-Bilt Homes to prove we are customers of United-Bilt homes that are being ripped off.
We have dealt with employees of United-Bilt Homes at the local, regional, and headquarters level without resolution. We have been lied to by employees of United-Bilt Homes at the local, regional, and headquarters level. Their senior vice president has lied in their responses to the Better Business Bureau. We are currently working with the state of Texas to address our concerns. Unfortunately, the state advised us that it could take 2 years to complete their investigation.
At this point in time, it is important for other consumers to get an accurate picture of what it is like to deal with United-Bilt Homes on a corporate level.
The Fayetteville Arkansas office is just one of many locations that United-Bilt Homes operates (Click the + sign by the "Headquarters Review" to see the list of locations listed with the Better Business Bureau for the Business)

Dear Company Warranty Manager:
In our original comment, we did not mention the location of the residence.
How did you determine the distance from your "local" United-Bilt Homes office in Fayetteville to the structure that United-Bilt Homes has "BILT"?
According to mapquest, your Fayetteville Office is about 500 miles from this structure. This one of the few truthful statements that a representative of United-Bilt Homes has made.
How did you determine the distance from the local office to the structure that your company has "BILT"? Was it after talking to the regional construction manager that was talking in the youtube video? Was it after talking to your Vice President/Attorney? It would be interesting to know how you determined the location of the structure that we referenced in our consumer comment. We are not the author of the original complaint, but we have filed our consumer comment because our problems with United-Bilt Homes are like the ones that the original author experienced. However, we are consumers that has been ripped off by United-Bilt Homes otherwise you would have not known the approximate distance from your Fayetteville Office to the "home located about 500 miles away."
Based upon the following ripoffreport.com report numbers a number of consumers have been ripped off by United-Bilt Homes:

218031 Baton Rouge Louisana
218286 Springdale Arkansas

367678 Harrison Arkansas
742510 Houston Texas - This one is interesting. Per the author it took 6 YEARS for the structure "BILT" by United-Bilt Homes to pass the city of La Porte's final inspection. This one appears to have been resolved after 6 YEARS.
268060 Monroe Louisiana
Why are you not disputing the lies told by YOUR regional construction manager?
will you admit that one of the people talking in the video below is the Regional Construction Manager for United-Bilt Homes?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA-PJ8Vc-tQ
Will you admit that he was talking about a structure that United-Bilt Homes has "BILT"?
Why does headquarters for United-Bilt Homes fail to resolve construction issues with multiple office locations from multiple consumers in a timely manner?
I am patiently awaiting your response to my rebuttal.
Sincerely,
One of the consumers that are being ripped off by United-Bilt Homes.

This "Update" to the original complaint is not an update at all but has been posted by a person who is not our customer and involves a home located about 500 miles away. This latest posting is not valid and does not apply to the home in question.

They were in a hurry to have us sign the loan paperwork as well. They just gave us a couple of days to come up with the cash down payment in addition to the equity in our 16 acres of land. They told us that if we didn't close in a couple of days, the laws would change and they would not be able to finance the purchase.
We have also experieinced lots of delays as they "BILT" the house. One would expect quality work from a business that was given extra time to deliver. Unfortunately, the only deliverable was really bad workmanship from their sub-contractors and no oversight from United-Bilt Homes. They have also made promises that have not been honored. In fact they are denying promises that were made. The really bad thing is their promises involve major structural and electrical problems.
As shown by the you tube video below we have been lied to as well:

Be sure and click the Show more dropdown to compare their response to the Better Business Bureau with what their Regional construction manager said in the video.

We did not promise to build the home in 120 days. We provided all the services called for in our contract, and did not charge for services we did not provide. We are an on-your-site and "sweat equity" builder - the customer retains the responsibility for certain things to save money and avoid paying us to do things the customer can do (for example, floor coverings or interior paint). This way, teh customer avoids paying overhead to us for work the customer can line up without us. This was all spelled out very clearly to these customers, in their initial application documents and in the contract which they signed with us. We completed this home and the customer took possession shortly after this report was made back in 2005. From that day to now, we have not received any complaints on this home, and no warranty claims. They have had the home now for over 3 years. We consider this matter resolved.

Well, here it is July 8th. We have made our first mortgage payment and as we predicted we still do not live in our house. We are the ones making double house payments, while United Bilt takes their time in finishing our house. Bet if they were making double payments it would be done a long time ago. Our "Construction Supervisor" told us that it would be okay to give our 30 day notice on the 1st of June...good thing that we had already learned our lesson and didn't listen. We would be homeless... There has been a little progress..the 1/2 of a tree has been removed...5 months after it was taken down. We still have several open promises, and we continue to do work ourselves that we feel should've been included in the house price. Most of this due to sloppy sub-contractors. Please just take caution in deciding who to build your house and check the company out good. I would not want anyone to go through what we have. Again, I would not recommed United Bilt Homes out of Fayetteville to my worst enemy!
