Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
United Layer is ran by Arman Khalili, Derek Garnier and a few other people who think they can run data centers and mange servers in San Francisco and Los Angeles. They are desperate for money and they will do anything to take anyones money. While our team settled in their facility in San Francisco, CA, they promissed us the world and when it came down to it, they had no idea how to run anything in their company.

Derek Garnier and Arman Khalili who pretend to run the company have no sense of business and manners at all.

If you want to do any colocation, IP transit or dedicated servers, please take my advise and RUN far away from United Layer as they will be going out of business in a very near future.

#2UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Tue, December 09, 2014

Since this last post UnitedLayer has been bought out by a Indian (tech support) fellow by the name of Abhijit Phanse who has innovatively destroyed www.UnitedLayer.com from ground up.

The purchase of UnitedLayer by Accelon Capital, Mr. Abhiit Phanse has restructured the company from a pure colocation to United Disaster Recovery, United Private Cloud, United Public Cloud, United Colocation and United Connect.

Its one thing to re-brand the company that has always failed to come to what is promised but to take it to another level where the service is worst that tne managment itself by offering what you can not deliver is another fact that we left UnitedLayer after colocating with them for more than 3 years.

Abhijit is the CEO of UnitedLayer, a premier North American Hybrid Cloud company. He is also the Managing Partner of Accelon Capital, a mid-market private equity firm, where he led the acquisition of UnitedLayer. He has 18 years of experience in starting, growing, and leading technology businesses. Previously, Abhijit co-founded Scintera (acquired by NYSE: INPHI and NASDAQ: MXIM) and was its CEO. Scintera is the leading provider of high performance signal processing semiconductors for networking and wireless applications. Prior to starting Scintera, Abhijit held management positions at National Semiconductor where he led the development and commercialization of three generations of Ethernet Networking products.

Abhijit has an MS in Management from Stanford Business School, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has authored numerous publications and has over 50 US patents. He enjoys wind surfing, hiking, and playing the guitar. He and his wife have two young sons although he has a full time boyfriend who also resides in San Francisco.

You can find videos on Mr. Abhijit Phanse (good luck understanding what he says) below as well to see his new vison of UnitedLayer which is making sure he takes your money and does not deliver anything the company promises.

UnitedLayer is not at all a trustworthy company to do business with even with their rebranding and new CEO.

#3Consumer Suggestion

All companies have room for improvement. The United Layer I know and deal with today is represented by new players who enjoy innovation, motivate positivity and welcome partnership. The shadow of negative press will always be there. Roots from the unfortunate customers and partners who were, or are, impacted by the power limitations, price increases, and most of all, by the tough business decisions made. UL took control of the 5th floor to make positive changes, I get it... but to do so, they need more authority to make decisions. Otherwise, the same process that's pissing people off today, will continue to drag United Layer's name in the mud, no matter how much urgency, they have no power to expedite and make some simple changes happen. No matter how smooth and able the staff, processes around everything will slow progress down so simple change requests should be a local decision and complex change approvals should speed up. We are all guilty of shooting the messenger and that's what's happening here. In most cases, these guys are trying to do good but with hands tied, in most cases they fall short on delivering. Customers get more pissed off watching them win big in billing and they continue to suffer. Without more power to make decisions UL is useless to customers, and the issues will continue to generate negative press. They need to survive the initial pains of change and they need to continue the path towards making KEY adjustments. Power distribution and acquisition is key, but they need to be providing the best customer experience from this point on. Maybe UL, DRT and TLX can help make this center reach the next levels. And maybe other players like R. D. and P.S. can represent the new future of United Layer on the 5th floor. Let's wait and see but can you afford to... Server Farm
