I was contacted by this company saying they had buyers for my timeshare ownership.
They directed me to their website,
www.unifinangroupinc.com to try and make themselves legit. At that website, they directed me (as if i were an idiot and never seen a website before) to notice the BBB rating at the bottom of the home page.
That BBB rating was a link to the REAL Universal Group Financial's rating (
www.ufgworld.com) . The fraudulent company uses the same address but has different phone numbers and a different website.
The BBB confirmed the rating belonged to the company noted, not the fraudulent phone number or fraudulent website the caller called from or directed me to during our conversation. This was simply a case of someone using one company's good name and good rating, piggybacking on that to try and scam folks.
Oh, and he uses his "christian faith" to bring his point home. As a believer, this isn't how it's done. Do be ware, folks. I doubt Mr. Rodriguez has a buyer for my timeshare but you can bet, if I get a check, I'll be trying to cash it BEFORE i do anything else. God willing, these are the provisions I prayed for and it will clear.
Weird scam though - they didn't ask for money ... yet ... also, since I gave my employer TRUTHFULLY as local law enforcement agency in southern California, I doubt they'll be contacting me again...
ya just never know who you're dealing with folks. ALERT
314-721-5522 is the legit number for Universal Financial Group and on their website, they post a notice from the President advising that they are not at all affiliated with ANY company dealing with timeshare investments or travel/real estate services of any kind.
Universal's real number is NOT 314-255-1848.
This can all be confirmed by Pattui Hartmann at (314) 721-5522
