You are misinformed with the statement that UOP courses do not transfer. I am here to let everyone know that all my courses from the UOPs Bachelors Program transferred into another universitys Masters Program and I was not required to take Pre-Core classes nor did I have to take an entrance exam. There was not a single problem with the transfer of credits to Davenports Sneden Graduate program, which is one of the best schools in this nation. If a person wants to bank their entire educational career on one university then maybe there is a topic for discussion, but to get the total effects of Diversity, Commitment, and Vision a person should not choose their Masters from the same school of their Bachelors. The UOP may have a higher cost than the local schools, in the course of one year the tuition (including books) was raised three times at a $100 a whack, but that is the cost of convenience. Allow me to boast that the courses were more than sufficient to challenge the Graduate Degree. The whole idea of team-based learning assignments is to make aware the imperative that everyone needs to work together, something American has a hard time dealing with. However, it is very difficult to deliver team expectations without consequences. Of the 16 classes, I personally prepared the team assignments for 10 of them, got my A and continued onward. Never looking for a handout, I can only hope those efforts lightened the burden of the other team members. My entire BSM program was funded by student loans, but I kept a continuous dialog with my Financial Advisor by requesting balance statements before and after every course. Not a dime came out of my pocket during the entire run of my degree program and the UOP did not take money that was not legitimate. During the course, I received back four installments totaling $6,000 from which to live. Keeping a direct line of communication with the Finance Advisor is suggested. The total misconception that the UOP is giving degrees away to students is completely false; the degree may only hold a little weight, but the degree is to be learned not earned nor is it free. Besides, to interject a little controversy, I could state that a Bachelor Degree could never hold the same weight as a Graduate Degree no matter where the Bachelor Degree came from. The message is not to allow miscommunication to develop between expectations and reality. Read the darn books, study your heart out, and do the assignments. This is the individual commitment everyone has to them self. No university or student could ever survive if all expects a free ride. For many it is Boot Strap pulling time, so pull them up and hang on for the ride. For all you wonderful people looking for a university NOT to go to, I encourage you to follow your conscience. Believe it or not, I hear there are 25,000 graduates with MBAs wondering what happens now. I read a report that a Graduate Degree is a valued weapon in the arsenal of educational achievements for leveling the playing field. More importantly, a Graduate Degree sharpens competitiveness in this ever-changing economic environment. Can you affort to settle for anything less?
