Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have been attending this school for over two years working on my associates degree and had to take a leave of absense once because I knew I needed to work on my stress levels. When I came back, I had a stess-induced heart attack after 4 weeks back in class. My instructors were not very willing to work me even though I was having health issues. I took a leave of absense after my heart attack and came back into one class. Well, once I was in my final week of class my advisor tells me I have to pay money to take my next class(es). When I left for my leave to get my health back, I was told everything would be fine and there would be no issues. Well, in my nineth week of class my academic advisor tells me I would owe several thousand to continue in my next classes because there isn't funds to continue! Why the h*** not!! Excuse me that your s***** teachers stressed me to the point of a heart attack at the age of 34! I am a perfectly healthy, not anywhere close to overweight individual. My heart attack was totally sress induced according to my cardiologist and he told me that I have to keep my stress levels down or I WILL have another heart attack. I have two young children and I would like to be around for awhile! My advisor sent me many emails that were totally incorrect or made absolutely no sense! For example, I got one saying I did not make attendance one week, when I had cleary made over my required posts. I feel like I have been totally screwed over by this school and that they were just after my money and not helping me to succeed at all. Thanks to them I now have to start paying back over 20K in loans and still no degree! I am only like 5 or 6 classes from finishing too. I will go somewhere else when I can to finish, since thanks to UofP, I cannot!

I'm not a big fan of online schools, but let's be fair. Your teachers didn't give you a heart attack. College can be stressful, especially if you have small children to manage. If you ran out of money, there could be a few causes. First, student loans are limited and it's up to the student to understand that.  The Department of Education website explains this.

Second, if you only took one class, you probably weren't eligible for loans, since they usually require at least half-time enrollment. Third: if you DID have to pay for that one class, that balance would need to be paid before they would let you enroll again. That's standard practice at all colleges. I hope that you're feeling better and can find a way to resolve this.  Education is SO important, so don't give up!
