Read the Arizona Republic Article dated September 13, 2004. The Department Of Education filed a class action suit and the UOP Online Campus and Apollo Group had to pay 9 million dollars. The lawsuit (I read it on line) mentions all the practices that Wendy from Calif. talks about. I currently work at the UOP as an enrollment counselor. I have been employed for less than 6 months. It is a sales job, not an enrollment counseling position. I went there with The idea of helping people to get into school to better their lives, believing I would be good at it. I have discovered UOP cares nothing for the students concerns, they only want more money, more enrollments, more personal financial gain, again not for the benefit the individual student, just the Apollo Group. If we don't make "qouta" of ten "students" per month, every month, after our 6 month "review" our pay is cut by 3% and possibly higher. So, while they are no longer compensating employees by way of high dollar trips, bonus pay, other goodies (mentioned in the legal documents) there is still alot of high pressure to enroll.
