I use UPS locations all the time as a small business owner.  Unfortunately, we had the most AWFUL experience with UPS Store #4503 Gun Barrel City, Texas.  We shipped a package to a customer....the items were damaged.  UPS was contacted as we purchased additional insurance to cover in the event of damage.  UPS picked up the wrong package (as part of their insurance claims process)-and we have gotten the run around for weeks!!!!  As you all know, you can track a package online.  Our tracking number verified that Matt at that location received our "missing" package on 12/3/2013.  However, upon calling Matt-he claims that is incorrect.  He states that TIM MAY???  is supposed to be looking into it!  Matt is an "employee" and HE REFUSES TO GIVE US THE OWNERS CONTACT INFORMATION!!!  From my research, the "Owner" is always in ANOTHER COUNTRY-GOOD LUCK-trying to track her down!  I have a call into the corporate franchise team to find out what can be done about this situation!  This guy "MATT" thinks he is above the law-this is outright STEALING!!!!  I will update as more infomation comes in...at this point-principal kicks in and I pray NO ONE ELSE FALLS VICTIM TO THIS SCAM!

UPS packed store in Gun Barrell City, Texas packaged it. The public should be made aware of this specific location. If you give them your goods to ship, when you need assistance to help track the package and to handle a claim, they will be rude and HANG UP the phone on you!!!!  

Further, they will tell you they are working with "other customers and don't have time to deal with you!"  I'm sorry....what?  Am I not a ALREADY PAID customer??!! If you have issues with this branch- that is individually owned, I suggest you call the corporate office that handles these situations.  It is not UPS corporate. You will need to call 800-789-4263 or the VP of operations, Jim.  

As you can see in their rebuttal response, referring to the items shipped as "junk".....that's the attitude and unprofessional behavior we have experienced throughout this process.  I typically would not spend my time with these reports, but enough is enough. This has been going on too long and I am sick of the attitude.

"UPS picked up the wrong package (as part of their insurance claims process)"? Who gave the wrong package? That wasn't UPS' fault to be handed the incorrect package.

If the tracking show it was returned and signed by 'Matt' (first names are not usually used on tracking info), then what are they explaning to you how they don't have it? 

If this is a "scam" of "stealing", why would anyone want your damaged junk?

On a side note: Who packed this item? If it was a UPS Store, the advertisement says you automatically get a damage claim approval and all your packaging fee back. If you packed it yourself, then was the claim approved? If it wasn't, the claim will clearly state the deficiencies in the packaging as based on industry shipping guidelines easily found in any carrier website.

As far as the details in this report, a scam could actually be on your part or the recipient's part.

If you provide the tracking #, it would indicate a better picture than you have been able to describe here. And I sure hope your packaging was better than your report composition.
