The reason I have paid a premium for my Urban Active membership is for spinning class offered at the Colerain Club. I asked an Urban Active Manager at Colerain, "Why are all the programs canceled"? He said, "Its all about money". I responded, "Its also about Member retention too because without retaining Members its no longer about money". I truly believe this club will be closed soon and the fitness equipment will be moved to one of their planned new locations. Some of the recent signs I have seen that I think the Colerain club will close is much of their equipment is not working properly that just needs simple repairs that have yet to get done, the shower and locker area is a mess and unclean, lack of professional Management, absolutely no updates to the club as long as I have been a member there, and just recently, no childcare or fitness programs. Look at your contract, if you live in a radius of another club, you cannot get out of your contract. For those who live in Colerain, the West Chester Urban Active meets that requirement. Since I pay a premium for my membership dues for Spinning Class, I asked if I could be compensated for their decision to cancel their programs and since they are now offering $14.95 month to month memberships. My answer was, "No, its for new members only". From the very first time I climbed on a Spinning bike, the trainer and students showed me how to spin like Johnny G. Now, 40 pounds lighter, I want to thank all of my Spinning friends at Urban Active - Colerain. I will miss our classes together and the outstanding Spinning Instructors who showed me that loosing weight is possible. My message to Urban Active: You are about to lose a lot of members and the reputation of being a higher end brand name gym. My message to anyone thinking of joining for $14.95: Don't waste your time or money.

I joined this gym on November 13th! Simply, the contract in question was misrepresented by underhanded, SHADY SALES PRACTICES by the General Manager, John! I was not told about the discontinuation of aerobic services, was told that my 13 year old daughter could be treated as a guest, and was charged $24.95 for a service that others are paying $14.95 for! Based on everything that I have read today on the internet about the past sales practices of this company, it seems that there was no lesson to be learned. Instead, a fast buck trumps customer retention and future revenues!
Again, file with the Attorney General's Office because even though this all occurred several months prior to my contract, they have obviously learned nothing! John told me one thing and the contract states something TOTALLY DIFFERENT! That in and of itself is fraud! The SAME FRAUD that has bought down the HOUSING INDUSTRY AND THE REASON WHY WE ARE IN A RECESSION TODAY! IF you join this gym...get the $14.95 that INCLUDES EVERYTHING and nothing else! What a RIPOFF and don't WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY!!! I'D BE SURPRISED IF THEY ARE STILL HERE NEXT YEAR!!!
