My son planned months ahead for a trip to Amsterdam at Thanksgiving. We paid for tickets through US AIRWAYS in July of this year, also paid for the hotel. He has been unable to pull up his reservations online so today he called to see what the problems was.

It seems they canceled the flight returning from Amsterdam and felt no need to let him know. We have no idea when they were canceled. They tried to tell us we did not give them contact information, but we got the confirmation (through email) and they took the money out of my account quick enough. So, the kid would have been in Amsterdam trying to get home having spent all his money?

They offered to give him a new flight for a mere $350 dollars! That is outrageous. It is their mistake and thier problem. I finally got them to change it to the next day for free but now his budget is totoally blown. They didn't offer to pay for a hotel, basically laughed when I suggested it. They offered to refund his money and he could find another one (through them). I am sure since flights have gone up $400.

To make matters worse we were on the phone for TWO hours before we got anywhere the first guy was so rude when I asked him his name he hung up on me.

Never using US AIRWAYS AGAIN! Nor is anyone I know!
