US Telecom UST, Inc. fraudulent invoices Ontario, California
Our company, a law firm in Pasadena, CA, received an invoice from UST, Inc./US Telecom dated 8/1/11. The description on the invoice reads Telecom Maintenance/Service Call. There is no date of service, no PO #, and no signed work order attached.
We had recently had some problems with our phone system, but since I had never heard of UST, I e-mailed our phone service guy to ask if he had subcontracted any work to UST. (Note that the UST invoice looks almost exactly like our phone guy's invoices - they must use the same forms or software.)
He responded that hed never heard of them, so I called their phone number and left a message requesting info on the service call. I havent heard back from UST, but I did find other online posts that this company sends out bogus invoices to companies, hoping that the invoice slips through the cracks and gets paid by someone who is not paying attention. Beware!!!
