I recieved a bill from Qwest with long distance charges to Guyana for 20 minutes on July 22 at 12:31 pm. I am the only home and I did not make the call. I called Qwest, who referred me to USBI and they said it was charges from an internet pay-site.

Again, I didn't do it. Both Qwest and Comcast said that because I have cable-internet, the charges aren't accurate because they require a dial-up internet connection. USBI refused to believe they made an error.

I have reported the problem to the FCC, my local Public Utilities Commission, my local Division of Consumer Protection, the investigative team from my local news station, and a lawyer in regards to organizing a class action lawsuit. I urge everyone to do the same.

Heather, I would recommend that you and any others that have been a victim of this company go to: www.ftc.gov and click the link to e-commerce, you can go directly to ecommerce.gov. This is a multinational group that is working to: "... to file a cross-border complaint that will be quickly accessible to multiple government enforcement agencies. The information contained in your complaint will allow the government agencies to spot current fraudulent schemes and help us decide how we might take action. By reporting your complaint you may also help prevent other consumers from having the same problem you experienced." I would also recommend to each person ripped off by an interent company such as the reports on Kurtz to include the FTC in your sources to make a complaint. Good Luck!
