Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance Asked for remodification, did refinance instead making us think it was remodification Maryville, Tennessee
We asked for a remodification for hardship. They made us think they were doing a remodification and actually did a refinance. All the money we'd paid before that (around $50,000) was down the drain and we ended up owing almost the same thing with another 30 years to pay. They moved the interest from over 10% to 8.5%. Still too high once unemployment ran out. We hired someone to deal with them for a remodification and Vanderbilt wouldn't budge. They lied and said the loan was only 1 year old (from the time of previous remodification/refinance). They would not lower our interest, but swears they don't want our home. So now we're still stuck with 8.5% in our mortgage because they want to run us out of our home and off our land. Had they brought the interest down to a non-predetory level, we could have handled it. Once my husband finds a job, we're going to do our best to get it refinanced with another mortgage because this mortgage company is all about the money, to hell with what your life is like.
