I have just stumbled across while doing a search for Vanderbilt, looking for an email address to file a complaint on Harrassing calls.. When we first started out, out loan was through Tammac corporation, then Vanderbilt took over. I never had a problem with the company until recently when we fell on some hard times. Out payments have been within the 30 day grace period they allow. Let me tell you a little more about the situation. My husband lost his job and went to a new company. The man who was handling our account at the time was very nice and understanding, he was working with us on our payments. Im not sure what happen to this young man, but another person within the company took over our accounts, and this is when the harrassment started.. Im a stay at home mom, because we have 2 kids and our youngest is still not of school age. My husbands new job keeps him on the road alot. Today (being Dec 5) just put me at my wits end with the harrasing calls...This lady who is handling our accounts (ill keep her name to myself for now) called me..At first she was being nice. then she went on asking personal questions all of a sudden she starts implying that we are poor people and we should sell our home, because its quite obvious we will not be able to afford it.. She also stated to the fact that I should feel insecure because my husband is working on the road and leaving us behind alot..yeah, that hit hard and was very unproffesional..I asked to speak to her manager, she told me there is no need to, because the manager will tell me the same thing..anyway the call resulted in her yelling at me, insulting my inteligence and not to mention my personal life and family..then she unproffesionally said, "what do you have to say about that?...ooh just as thought nothing" and she hung up on me. This not the first time this has happened, I have spoken to the manager dealing in our specific department about this same caller before..The manager said she was going to take control of it..I even wrote a letter of complaint, and asking that she be taken off our account.. Today, I wrote another letter, this time through email, and even tried contacting the manager by phone, but she was not in the office.. Our account so far has been in good standing condition, it has been recently that its suffering, but not to the point where we go over our grace period..The phones calls are very stressing and very degrading to me as a customer..The unproffesionalism is just awful. I never knew there were people filing suits against Vanderbilt until I found this website. Its unfortunate that we all have to deal with this, and I know now that im not alone and there can be something done. Something does really need to be done, because this is too much emotional stress and baggage to be handling...Thank you all for listening to me. and I know if we stick together, they cant continue to get away with this.. I was reading this complaint and rebuttals and so glad I read through all. Thanks so much for all of you support against Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance. It was great that Sharon took the time to lay things on the table. Many will get a boost from that victims support. Everything helps now with what so many have gone through. I'm trying to get the message out for everyone in the future to not purchase used or repos from their group....I'm sure they have ads in secure web sites ie 21st Mortgage Corp. I didn't want to try to sign up because I know VMF has my IP so probably our home would be blocked from my seeing it if it were on there...in the "pending" stage. Look at VMF Marketing Center.....there are a lot of homes listed there....check even states near your home...they could be putting your home there too. There are so many ways they can try. Another is Blackwell Discount Homes....maybe there. They are new ad on TV. Take care everyone...Keep going..don't let them take your home!!

Sharon, it's nice to hear from someone who knows all about Vanderbilt. I can't go into it all but I've been battling with them for months on a home that I sold and the person ran off. I sent the Police to the home yesterday just prior to them leaving (they changed the locks) and I instructed them to arrest anyone in the home. There is a stay on the home, signed by a Judge, and once again they violated the law. They put a for sale sign in the window, they told my attorney they're afraid to go back to the property and would I allow them to leave the for sale sign up. I said absolutely not, they have until the end of business today to remove it. I can now file a lawsuit against them for disobeying a court order. Yesterday was probably one of the best days ever, I told them what they are going to do now, not what they want to. I will keep you all posted...

I have read through all of the complaints about Vanderbilt on this website and I am in full agreement with all of you. My heart goes out to you and I do wish that I could help you. I was employed at Vanderbilt for a very short period of time. THANK GOD!!!! That is the worst company I have ever worked for. It was a matter of time before I figured out what was really going on. I am sorry but I cannot work for a company that breaks the law every day and treats their customers like they are trash. They call customers repeatedly several times a day and harass them when they know that it is against the law. They add insurance to customers accounts when they know good and well that the customer already has insurance. They threaten customers by scaring them into making their payments and by telling them lies such as they are going to lose their homes when they are only due for the current month. They have no compassion for anyone and they make no effort to try and help people. I think one man on this website said it best about there are going to be times when a person falls behind. That is so true. Life is not perfect. We are all going to struggle at some point in time. I always did my best to be understanding towards every customer that I spoke with. I had people call me all the time saying that I was the nicest person they had ever spoken with at Vanderbilt and could I be there account rep. That made me feel good but it also made me angry because no one deserves to be treated like crap. I have to say that Vanderbilt is one of the most negative environments that I have ever worked in. The people are horrible. I remember when I first started working there. I thought man these people must be absolutely miserable because that is how they portray themselves at work and in their personal lives. The management is poor and they are worse than the regular hourly employees. It's all about the money there and they will do anything and say anything to get you to pay it. I am thinking of filing a lawsuit myself or at least letting the powers that be know that this is going on because it is ridiculous to let them get away with it. I am behind all of you and I wish you the best of luck. I am just glad that I finally told them to take that job and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Georgette, I have documentation coming out my you know what concerning Vanderbilt. My file is about 2 inches thick. As you can see, they have deleted your email and no way to reach you.. I'm waiting for the day for a class action lawsuit to be filed against them. I have had my attorney contact them, they are ruthless, don't care, and will break any law out there because they don't believe anyone will fight back. We need to find a way.
