Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On march 29,2004 I once again took my truck [a 99 dodge ram quad cab 1500] to my dodge dealers to look at a clunk in the rear [the clunk has been there since we got it and had taken back to a couple different places thinking someone would find the problem, which they too heard] as well as an air conditioner that was no longer cooling.I also was having a pulling back feeling and a chugging noise in the engine.

Thinking it was bad gas I would try to go somewhere else to buy the gas next time and sometimes that would be good for a short time and after awhile it didn't help at all.On the 30th I got a call from the woman who worked in the service part and she told me the condenser-compressor on the air conditioner finally showed up the dye that that we knew it would[after I had to pay for 3 freon and dye refills at $120.00 at times and more at other times.] And also the intake manifold gasket was leaking, and an idol arm control motor, some hoses and the rear were broken and needed a new part from Atlanta.

The main problem was when will the inspector show up ?Well He showed up two days after the dealership had established that they needed to tear down the rear and save the oil and the parts. When I brought the truck in the engine light was on[which had not been on when I went out to get the mileage off the dash.] When the tech put my truck on the computer a code came up which he wrote down and then other vehicles had to be tested also[some 125 I was told].

The point here is that when the inspector from the V.P.P. showed up he did not trust the code that the tech wrote down and said that it was not demonstrated to him exactly what needed repairing and denied seeing the dye which the tech pointed out to him.The inspector then told the dealership that the tech could have written down any code by making one up and he needed to speak to his boss before he gave them any approvals.

Meanwhile I have been posted daily by the service dept.on the problems they were having with this inspector. I in the meantime call the warranty co. and ask when I can go get a rental at the dealerships price[$30.00 a day] because I need to go to the hospital for some tests and my son is now on spring break and I need to run him here and there and get prescritionns filled etc..,I had already been patient for 3 days without a vehicle!

When a very nice man named James at the V.P.P. told me "absolutely, once they ok the repairs they will pay for a rental" I was so sure they would find something I told him I would go get the rental and James supported my decision.I also got the same message from the dealership that they are good for their rental reimbursements. So confidently off I went.

I then heard on Friday that the inspector had talked to his boss and they were going to pay only for the rear and not the airconditioner and the idol arm control. By this time I was really upset and I called the company and spoke to a very arrogant man named Tim H.#8221 who very proudly told me and my husband that he had worked on vehicles for 30 some years and he knew what he was doing and that these technicians did not! [That is why he now answers a phone ( -meow-) sorry had to throw that in ].Otherwise they would know how to correctly diagnose the problem with my truck to satisfy the expectations of the inspectors.

So when my husband asked this Tim H.#8221 if he could call and talk to the techs. and tell them what they needed to do to satisfy this inspector, he sarcastically dismissed our question and said "I should not have to tell them how to do their job, they should know already! "Well at that point I realized we had a problem so I asked him did he think a better solution would be to continue to butt heads and drag your feet some more to cause his company to have to pay for our rental longer? He said" that is another matter"[now I know what he really was saying] and I told him I was not going to pay for a thing,he then said "DO what you have to do" and hung up!

As I found out today they are only paying for 3 days of a 10 day rental!Isn't that nice. And by the way I called the company two days ago on april 8,2004 and spoke to another very cordial person whose name was Suzy or Susan,[she said she was the only Suzy there when I asked for an I.D. # so I accepted that] ,well she claimed that" she saw at least 6 days that they would pay for"So relieved I called back the woman at the dealership, that has come to know me by voice [if that tells you anything], and she agreed that was good.

Well today I went to pick up the truck, drop off the rental, and tally up the bill[READY!!!!!] I payed$ 479.33 just for the truck, not even the rentalcharges yet. Those will be at least $300.00.They paid $1,933.60 for the rear and I really don"t have the facts ,but when I asked the attendant what the charges were for and she did not know,so I will have to call back on monday.

I have contacted a lawyer, but must wait until monday and these things always leave you hanging on a friday!

I just feel that the warranty companys failure to agree to pay for the time I was without a vehicle is unfair and is not an unreasonable request on my part to expect reimbursment for .How low to split hairs with a qualified dealership and in essence call their technicians liars when they were informed from day 1 of what my truck needed. It took a week to convince this inspector that these were the things my truck needed ,why should I be nickle and dimed on belts hoses and freon plus dye and diagnostic tests to prove what they[ the techs] knew all along and each time they ran the truck to force it to leak the dye I was charged a fee. Then it took another week to get the parts, when they could have had the truck back to me the first friday they had it!

But they dragged it out another week playing these power trip games! This is an outrage and they should be held accountable, NOT ME!!![The supervisor of the inspection dept.is a man named Eddie]He did not seem to want to negotiate with the dodge dealer on the rental issue so I am assuming he will also not be negotiating with me and frankly, I am getting sick over this whole stinking mess.I will never waste another dime on another warranty in my life![ which I paid quite a bit for along with the interest on the amount financed into my payments for this warranty!]

Aftermarket warranty companies such as the one mentioned are nothing but a problem. Next time you purchase, do yourself a favor and purchase an extended warranty from the manufacturer.
