Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On 5/9/2016 we bought an IPhone 6 S at Verizon Perimeter Center W store in Dunwoody GA and we also bought for the device and insurance against loss, theft or damage for which we agreed to pay $11.00 monthly.

On 5/19/2016 the phone was water damaged so we went back to the store next day and filled a claim # 424447885.

We were contacted by a company named Asurion Insurance Services and they asked us to pay $199.00 deductible cost to overnight the new phone.

In the retail installment agreement that we signed, under clause 4: Risk of loss- Insurance, there was no such deductible cost or even the mention of Asurion being the provider of the insurance service. The sales person never mentioned of a deductible or about Asurion or provided us with an insurance policy.

We tried to contact Asurion and spoke with Lorry that told us that every insurance policy has always a deductible. She asked me if the Verizon sales person provided us with the insurance policy and when I responded by the negative she said that they were mailing the policy today. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she put on the phone with Jeff Hsores which offered to cancel the policy and refund $11.00 if I did not want to pay the deductible. His offer to calm me down was like you buy insurance for your home and when your home is on fire, the insurance company offers you to cancel the policy or to pay 27% of the cost of the house, cost that you did not know about when buying insurance. The cost of the deductible $199 divided by the cost of the phone $749.99 is 26.6%.

Of course our issue is not with Asurion that has very bad reviews. Our problem is with Verizon, that should have provided us with the insurance policy attached to the agreement and take our signature as they did with the contract.

We have requested to be reimbursed for the deductible but they transferred us from one person to the other and we end up losing contact.

I urge Verizon to refund my $199.00. Regretfully hiding intentionally a cost from a customer in an agreement falls under fraud in my book. Shame on Verizon Vireless!

your comment would be correct if I was made aware that there was a deductible when buying insurance.

YOU damaged the phone and therefore you a LIABLE for the deductible.  You are LEASING the phone!! You do not own the phone.  Get real - pay for your mistake and get on with your life.

PS I DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!
