So I was very excited to be taking the family to the Commonwealth Games and I bought my tickets last week from what I assumed to be a legitimate Commonwealth Games website. I received the usual confirmation emails for the tickets, and the link to where I could print them. The only thing that seemed off to me was that there was someone else’s names on the ticket, but I was assured by the help centre that this was normal if the tickets had been purchased and resold on the website and it wasn’t an issue to have my name on them.
Today we walk up to the ticket scanner and only one of the four tickets scan. The lady is really nice and gets a Ticketek staff member to help us. I then get ushered to the box office where is it confirmed that the other three tickets are probably photoshopped and I have just paid $340 for one ticket, and will have to purchase three more. At this point I’m thinking the event has sold out and my poor children will not be seeing the event.
Thankfully the real Commonwealth Games tickets are only $20 each. So the website really upped the prices! Anyway my point is that the website is VIAGOGO.COM Please avoid this website, it seemed so extremely legitimate down to every detail. I also found out that many other people had been scammed. One of the volunteers said she went to buy concert tickets and had the same problem a few years ago.
