I had the same problem as the last reporter.

My 12 year-old son signed up with Virgin Mobile for the unlimited text messages for $19.99/month. The deal is if he wants a cell phone, he has to pay for it. He buys a phone with his birthday money and saves his allowance all month and asks me to put it on my credit card and he gives me cash.

This was his first renewal month. Unfortunately I entered my credit card info for auto Top Up as well, mostly because the page directs you there. There is no message (either through email or phone) saying you need to top-up or will be removed from your monthly plan.

He was out of town when I topped up for him. All text messages were billed at ten cents per message and in one day he was out of money.

Virgin Mobile unwilling to help me. Called them three times, waited for 30 minutes each time and three times they hung up on me. That's how they deal with 'problem' customers-hang-up!

So I sent an email stating I wanted to be reimbursed, wasn't fully notified, dissatisfied, etc. It's not the money; Really it's the principal. They send these IDIOTIC 'we're so cool' emails stating, "Sorry, can't help you. You should have known, dude. Here are the rules we never told you about before. So glad we could help you. Cool!"

No satisfaction at all, and I was treated very poorly as well. As soon as I can, he's going on a plan and it won't be VIRGIN MOBILE. They suck at customer service!

I did notice that the CEO of Virgin Mobile, USA, Daniel Schulman, is buying up shares left and right as I write this, but he doesn't care about the people who make him that money!
