Vision Security Security Networks Unlicensed Representative, Deceptive behavior to enter my home, lied to us Orem, Utah
There was a knock on my door. I answered it and there was a man there saying he needed to check the control panel of my security system to make sure it was working properly. I assumed he was with the company I was with which was ADT. He came in and went to the control panel and sure enough, there was a communication problem. He asked if we had recently changed phone service providers and we had. He then started talking about upgrading our system to include a cell chip so that the land line would not be necessary and he could do that right then but I would have to change to his Company which was VISION SECURITY.
I was still under a contract with ADT. When I told him this he said that it was ok and that HE would take care of the cancellation of that contract, including the draft. He had me sign a paper giving him the authority to handle the cancellation process. He promised that there would be no further action required by me for this change.
After everything was installed, etc, he presented more paperwork to sign and said it was paperwork to get the draft started by Vision. I was not allowed any time to look over the paperwork. I was also told that my account would be drafted right away for the first time, but that since I would still be paying on ADT that there would be no draft by Vision for the following month.
My account was drafted by both ADT and Vision the following month.
I called ADT and asked if they had been notified to cancel my account and they said "no". (first lie)
I called Vision and told them I wasn't supposed to be drafted for that month and they had no idea what I was talking about. (2nd lie)
After researching the name of the rep, I found out that he does not have a license to practice door to door sales in the state of TX, and neither he nor Vision had registered with local law enforcement as is required by law. I have also researched Vision and they are not members of the BBB and have had many complaints filed against them.
I am in the process of filing complaints with the Texas Department of Public Safety as well as the BBB.
I continue to be harrassed by them 6 months later, even after several written requests to cancel my contract..
My credit may take a hit, but I refuse to do business with any company who uses such underhanded practices and unlicensed personnel to get contracts....
