Visual Credit Counseling ripoff fraud tricks and lies to consumers Tucson Arizona
I joined Visual Credit In September 02 after two major back surgeries in a year and a half.I had tremendous medical debt. Much of it put on my credit cards.
I told them my husband and I were wanting to to purchase a home in the near future and wanted to know if it would affect our credit. I was told it would only improve our credit scores as our debt ratio would be lower.I also asked them repeatedly if they charged any fees for thier service.I was assured they work on "Contributions" and there was no fee to me. That was not true. Within six weeks I had numerous calls from creditors that they had not recieved thier payments.
When I called, I was once again assured that this was part of thier "process" and that they keep the first payment as a "Contribution", I tried to get out of the program but I was told I could not have my "Contribution" refunded and my accounts would "re-age". I was hesitant but remained in the program as the "sales person" told me this was a normal part of the process and to wait and see my balances going down etc. In the meantime, I have had to call them atleast two to three times a month because of creditor calls, they tell me the collections people are just trying to get a commission and not to worry, I am in the program.
We applied for a mortgage this month. I was shocked to discover numerous delinquntces and lates on our credit report. I had perfect credit for the last eleven years! They will not return emails, calls letters or faxes. I stopped the monthly bank draft, had to call all my creditors and give them money over the phone to get current as well as I paid Visual Credit thier 438.00 this month. They let more than 30 days pass before sending a payment to my Citicard and they have raised my interest rate to 25%. I was at 9.9 before joining this "non-profit" agency. This has been a nightmare! I have built my credit for eleveln years to have it destroyed in three months!!
