Virtually every bank out there orders transactions is descending dollar order, not the order in which the transactions occurred. However, your issue is not with the bank, it is the debit card itself. Limit your use of your debit card to transactions that are $25 and more. Anything else - pay in cash. Couple this with making certain you keep a written record of your transactions, and you will greatly reduce the amount of overdraft fees. If you decide to switch banks one day, you'll find the new bank will do the same thing. If all banks do it, then you as the consumer must adjust the way you bank so that you can avoid all of the unnecessary fees.
