Have a loan with Wachovia Dealer Services since April 2007 -- never problems with payments .. in fact, when I would check my online account, I could see that I was considered current - at one point - until November 2008.

Out of the blue, received call indicating I was late - asked the female who called (this was May 2008) how much was owed, she stated appx. $740 - I offered to get a check in the mail next day: not good enough - they had to have MoneyGram thus I MoneyGramed the requisite funds; called them and gave them the trace # for the payment. Was assured I was current and would get invoices as I always had ....

Well, 2 days later I had a call from Darius who indicated my car loan had charged off and began threatening repo or $16k. Said I automatically went to charge off when the acct hit 120 days late ... asked how I could be 120 days late when they just got a payment -- he stated that they had not accepted the payment (which was a lie: I called MoneyGram and they verified the money as accepted). I hired an attorney and got my branch bank president involved .... My attorney, unfortunately was bad: he didn't do much --

So, I get another call this week (July 2008)that there's going to be no negotiation: pay or give us the car AND indicating they gave me two chances (removed me from charge off in June and July and I failed to make payment) ... I asked who they told charge off status had changed: ACTUALLY was told that it was MY RESPONSIBILITY to be calling for the status updates.

Got the # for the Wachovia President's Office and spoke with a Deon Scott - initially, very polite: today, after I'd advised I hired a new attorney (who specializes in credit matters), first: Darius called me whining about "why do we have to deal with another attorney?" and second: Deon, who promised he would review the matter attacked me on the phone: Said they'd done me favors (referencing removing charge off status and then threateningly noting NSF checks which had NEVER been mentioned before). Told him they can deal with my attorney however, obviously, I am living in fear when everything could have been averted had Wachovia simply made a call to my attorney or written a letter stating they were removing charge off status.

My advice to all?? Stay away from these people: they feign being nice just to get you comfortable and then attack.

Unlike most believe they aren't the ones running the company. The board of directors is. The address I have for them is Board of Directors c/o Corporate Secretary Wachovia Corporation 301 S College St Charlotte, NC 28202-6000 fax 17044279407 Do not be surprised if you too receive a kiss off letter from a pablo hunt telling you to stop writing. After all this is in "their best interest."
