when you make a purchase, we set the funds aside for the merchant..then the merchant sends us a receipt. then we post the transaction. if your purchase made on the 4th gets us their receipt before the purchase on the 3rd, we pay it first. hate to break it to you, but its done by computer..a wachovia employee doesnt sit there and say, oh lets put this through first so he gets 3 nsf instead of one! besides, what makes you think wachovia wants a customer that cant keep a positive balance in the first place? you think your hurting us by SAVING us money that we shell out to pay for your over authorizations, whether its one or 3? of course we charge a fee, this is not a LOAN, we do not HAVE to pay your purchases if the money is not available..you should not try to over authorize at all, whether it only be one time or more! a "checking account" is NOT a line of credit..therefore, any attempt to treat it as such SHOULD be assessed a fee! a fee, that i might add, was outlined to you in the packet you received upon opening your account..which i will assume you did not read, because if you thought 35.00 was such a rip-off, you should closed your account imemdiatly, and certainly should not have attempted to spend more than available, regardless as to how they post!

Sorry to hear this happened to you. If you look at your statement you will find that we post the same way everyday, deposits/credits and then debits from largest to smallest. I undertstand that you feel we "manipulate" transactions to cause fees but actually you are the one creating the transactions. As sugessted, if you kept a register you would have known Advance America was going to take their money and that you did not have money available for the debit card transactions. Keeping an accurate register is the only way to keep from causing yourself fees.
By the way, I like how you say that you're excercising your right of free speech here by complaining but don't acknowledge that Robert & Jim are excercising theirs by responding to your post in a public forum.

I need to Grow up? Sorry Sir..Sounds like you are having difficulty being an adult and perhaps you need to read your statement and learn something about yourself. It appears to me that you have enough of your own problems then to worry about mine? "Wawa Stomp Stomp"? You are a troubled person! I have to laugh at how you present yourself, do you always present yourself in such a non-professional manner?
I am an adult with the right to Freedom of Speech without Harassment. I am not seeking advice, the facts are stated, no bank has a right to manipulate dated transactions to maximize profits nor merge, change policies, and procedures without the consumers knowledge. By the way, the error was not a excessive use of a debit card, it was one (1) EFT. I truly am not going to waste my time on this site. I thought it was for the educated not the unfortunate people in this world that hide behind the computer in anonymity to flex their muscle perhaps because they have no control of their own life or home? After you read your posting perhaps you will understand why I can not respect your opinion nor do I see any education in your presentation...sorry perhaps sesame street has some comments for you to rebut? :)

Poor Marie, did not overdraft from a debit card error. And poor Marie, is an adult who has the right to freedom of speech and to add to the many of the same FACTUAL COMPLAINTS. I do find it humorous however that this site is a magnet for people who have nothing better to do than read these complaints and insult people. Perhaps, I thought I was expressing caution to the educated and instead I have reached out to those who are so miserable they have nothing better to do then read these complaints and think they can "Educate and Insult Someone" Give me a break! I don't remember asking for advice, I do believe I was exercising my right to freedom of speech? Its more like they can't flex a muscle in their own home so they hide behind the anonymity of the computer and get on here to build their self esteem? Well I am all for helping the less fortunate build confidence, so I hope I helped you guys!
For those researching banks..No bank has a right to manipulate dated transactions to maximize profit, nor merge and change policies without properly notifying the customer of such changes~THIS IS THE FACT.

Your response is TYPICAL! Even when presented with the facts its STILL somebody else's fault and then you cry and whine about those who, in the spirit of EDUCATING YOU, try to explain why you are having these problems! This is incredible!
THE BOTTOM LINE: Marie has overdraft fees because Marie won't act responsibly with her account by keeping accurate written records of account usage. Marie would rather just continue using an ATM card blindly, having ZERO KNOWLEDGE of her account balance. When Marie exhausts her own money and starts spending money she doesn't have, then Little Marie cries, whines and stomps her feet because she now has to pay a fee for using money she doesn't have. But that's OK, we have all done that as little children. But these days, people have tried to help and instruct Little Marie as to how to avoid these fees and how to responsibly handle her account. But Marie continues whining and finds fault with those trying to lend a helping hand. She even accuses those trying to help her with some sort of colusion with the bank.
Poor Marie. Maybe someday she and others like her will grow up and learn to accept freely given help.

DEAR MR. IRVINE,
Its obvious you work for Wachovia because you only read between the lines to benefit the perfect explanation for Consumer Fraud.
FACT IS~It is not acceptable for Wachovia to manipulate any account.
When Advance America presented its debit, the funds were already
committed to debit card purchases that were already authorized and on
hold as well as deducted from my register. Instead of paying the
transactions presented prior to this transaction, they deducted this
transaction first because it was the highest debit and so that all
little transactions nsf creating the most fees. When Advance America
presented itself for payment, it was last to come in and should have
been the only to nsf. I have contacted Advance America and they have
apologized for their error and will refund one nsf fee, the only one
they should be responsible for. But they too can not justify paying for
numerous nsf fee's when their debit is dated after all the rest that
presented for payment prior to theirs. You can not tell me that its
appropriate to manipulate transactions from high to low to obtain the
most nsf charges, and out of date presentation order. If it is
appropriate, then why is there a Federal Government Class Action Law
Suite in Motion against Wachovia for the same thing? Perhaps you should
pay more attention to detail or mind your own business?

Wow if you consider $80 a "small" error I would love to hear what it takes to be a "BIG" error in your eyes.
What was this "small" error that you made?
Did it have anything to do with you "forgetting" about a transaction you made because you don't keep a register?
