In most states, including GA, an employer can fire you at will. They don't even have to give you a reason. That is the law.

Even though it didn't happen at work there was still the possibility of violence at work which the company will not allow. Additionally the company has the right to let you go for any reason they choose as long as they do not violate the federal anti-discrimination laws, i.e. they can't fire you because you're a minority, of a certain religious belief, sexual orientation, etc. But firing you for making threats against another employee, yep they'll do it every time.

She has a case alright aganist YOU. All she has to do is take the text message down to the local police dept. and you can be arrested for communicating a threat. Dumb move. Walmart is well within their rights to terminate you for just such behavior. It's time to grow up. IF you had been smart and filed aganist her for her behavior, you might have had some grounds for getting HER fired. What is it, a lover's quarrel? I like the part where you state you conducted yourself professionaly yet you threated her with violence. Walmart could be held for not taking action if something would happen and they had done nothing after being made aware of the two of your situations.
