On Friday May 31, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the afternoon, I stopped at the Wal-Mart at 6210 Annapolis Road, Hyattsville MD 20784 to purchase a battery for my home phone, I was not in the store no longer than 15 minutes to come out and find that my car window was ripped completely out of my car and vandalized also my work bag was taken from the TRUNK of my car which had my government ID’s, Beats headphone, IPOD Nano, Armani Exchange prescription glasses and my checkbook.  Also not only my care was vandalized, 4 other customer cars were vandalized as well.

When the manager came out to the parking lot his only concern was whether or not his SUV was vandalized then he proceeded to move his SUV to another location of the parking lot.  On Monday June 3, 2013 I called headquarters to file a complaint, 5 days later I received a call from the security manager at Wal-Mart stating that he would pull the security tapes only because I notified headquarters, I acknowledged to the security manager that one of the victims seen the 4 males who did this pulling off in a GOLD Caravan.

He stated that there might be a problem in finding the persons because they have had a problem with stolen Caravan’s.  This tells me that this is not the first time this has happened at this store.  Wal-Mart did not have any security out monitoring the parking lots.  All I ask them to do is to replace my items that were taken from my car and I was ignored.  I will never shop at Wal-Mart again nor would I recommend anyone to shop there and I will also cancel my membership with SAM’s Club as well because I do not want to do business with anyone who is affiliated with Wal-Mart.

The only time a company may be responsible is if you turn over your keys and they accept responsibility specifically.  Like a valet parking lot or something similar.

No company is responsible for people who park their cars themselves and never relinquish control.  They don't know you didn't damage your own car and want money for the contents because they do not have control.

Annoying but it's true.  I would also be annoyed but unless you get the police involved and they find the offender, maybe you can get something from your insurance company.

Also. be aware that you (and me) are less than nothing to Walmart and they couldn't care less if we never come back.

"All I ask them to do is to replace my items that were taken from my car and I was ignored."

Hope you plan to do a lot of Internet shopping in the future.   Never heard of any store that would reimburse a customer whose car was burgled in their parking lot.  No doubt you are pissed and I would be too, but realistically no store is going to cover this.    If it makes you feel better to shop elsewhere, that's fine.  Just don't kid yourself that the result would be any different at any other store.

Not really sure what you hoped to gain by dealing with the management and security folks at the store.   The police are the ones who are in the business of catching the criminals.  Hopefully, you reported it to them.  They're the ones who review the tapes and track down the culprits.
