Walden University Greedy, Incompetent, and Dishonest Baltimore Maryland
I enrolled in a few online classes at Walden Univiersity a few years ago. Having come to my senses and realizing that I didn't need the stigma of a crappy school like Walden on my resume, I dropped my classes. Actually, another factor which led to that decision was how I was treated by one of my instructors in front of several online peers. I made the mistake of emailing her an assignment, rather than posting it online. I emailed it because Walden was having tech issues, and it wouldn't process online like it was supposed to.
Well, the instructor attacked me, saying I was unprofessional and that I had better tow the line if I wanted to work in the field. I responded to her that I didn't appreciate how she treated me, considering that my enrollment contributed to her salary and that Walden's tech issues weren't my responsibility.
After that, I was so po'd that I decided to kick Walden to the curb (a wise choice). Now Walden is demanding a $515.00 payment even though no services were rendered. I refused to pay it, so they turned the matter over to Cedar Financial to try to collect the debt. Cedar tells me I now owe $715.00. I'm sure they're going to attack my credit with their obvious ripoff, but I've already turned the entire matter over to the Federal Trade Commission, and I'm going to let them handle the matter. I sure hope the $50,000 fine imposed on Walden by the FTC is worth the lame attempt to steal money which I neither owe nor have. Oh, and I'll be doing a consumer dispute AND warning others away from this sham of a university.
