I bought an xbox in 2010.  It had a one year warranty by the manufactorer as well as a purchased 2 year extended warranty from Walmart.  Our xbox started malfunctioning in October of 2013 approximately 2 months before the extended warranty was to expire.  I sent the xbox in for repair.  They emailed me at approximately 11am on October 31st saying they recieved it.  Then At 2pm on October 31 they sent an email saying they were shipping back my repaired xbox.   Quick huh?

I received my xbox back along with a denial of service letter.  The xbox was not fixed.  They said it was not covered due to "physical damage, liquid damage, or a prior unauthorized repair."  All of which have never occcured by the way.  I noticed on the back of the device the xbox 360 seal was still perfectly in place indicating the unit was never taken apart for inspection.

I called walmart warranty place to find out why it was not repaired.  I spoke to Wendy, id# 204144, and she informed me that she had no idea why it was not repaired and that it sounded like they had mixed my device up with another and accidently sent mine back.  She said she would look into the matter and call me back.  I got a call back from her informing me that the reason they did not repair my device was due to "bug infestation".  I informed her that that was impossible.  You have to have bugs in order to have a bug infestation.  I further informed her that the seal had never been broken so there would have been no way to even make that determination.  She said that the controller I had sent in had bugs in it or carcasses.  I went to the box and removed the controller to see what she was relaying to me to find out that it did infact have bug carcasses in it.  But as I was inspecting the controller I noticed that it was not my controller.  My controller would not snap close which is why I had sent it in with the xbox to be repaired.  I informed Wendy of my discovery and told her that I believed they had infact switched my item with someone elses like she had suggested earlier in the day.  Not only that but that they had not even opened my xbox for inspection.

She said due to the discovery of the condition of the controller they didnt open anything else but instead repacked the unit and shipped it back.  So now I have a broken xbox that never was inspected for repair and a controller with dead bugs in it that isnt even mine.  Nice.

I will never shop walmart again never the less buy their extended warranties.  They will stoop as low as it takes to not cover their products.  I intend to file complaints with the BBB, the OKlahoma attorney general's office, the warranties commission, online venues, and anywhere else I can to get the word out there.
