Washington Management Group seemed to have a good deal for a GSA Schedule, since I only had to pay them for the months that they actually worked to get me a GSA Schedule.  But once they started getting my money, they delayed and delayed.  I had to call countless times to reach Sean Carol, who was supposed to be doing our GSA Schedule for us. When I finally reached her she gave me some c**k-and-bull story about how busy she was, and how she'd be getting to me 'any day now'.    I told her that I was losing lots of business every day I didn't have my GSA Schedule.  She kept reassuring me that she would get it done quickly.

Perhaps its no mistake that the longer they delayed, the more monthly payments I had to pay to them.   They made it look like i'd be saving money, but once they got me to sign, they charged me over and over again.  I paid these guys monthly for nearly two years to get me a GSA schedule, and I ended up with nothing.  Because I had to keep paying monthly until they were done, they were in no rush.   On the contrary, they made more money for themselves by doing my work as slowly as possible (if at all).  By the time it was all said and done, they got $40,000 of my hard earned cash.  That''s a lot of mortgage payments.  I got nothing but I missed lots of deals.

After I left WMG, I took my GSA Schedule application to one of their competitors in Maryland, and paid them less than half what I paid WMG.  I had checked out their competitor before hiring WMG, but WMG's small monthly payments made it sound like it would save me money.   Boy was I wrong.  Their competitor quoted a fixed fee, which seemed higher, but ultimately was a lot more honest, since they didn't make more money by delaying my project.  The competitor was very responsive, in fact, the new consultant made me rush.  It seemed like a hassle, getting pestered for data.  But they got the job done in about 4 months, and I recently got my first government contract.

Don't trust Washington Management Group, or any other vendor, who makes more money delaying the work than doing the work.
