This was a "setup" and "scam" from the second I clicked on the internet search link.
I wanted to watch reruns of BBC's Sherlock. After a simple internet search, I decided to try http://watchepisode.net/.
When I click on the website's button to "watch now" at http://watchepisode.net/sherlock-season-1-episode-unaired-pilot.html, the webpage takes me to http://watchepisode.net/tv/watch-episode.php?tv-show=Sherlock%20Season%201%20Episode%20Unaired%20Pilot&img=http://watchepisode.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Sherlock-Season-1-Episode-Unaired-Pilot-150x150.jpg which says I have to create an account to watch.
I click on the button to "create account" which goes to https://www.lilplay.com/signup?ad_domain=ads.ad-center.com&ad_path=%2Fsmart_ad%2Fdisplay&prod=1&ref=5047086&seed=1172854010&sf=eone&utm_source=watchepisode.net&utm_medium=referral&placement=watchepisode.net&adserver=0.17.0-rc5&sfv=20
This page asks for you name and email address. Membership is FREE. However, that page takes you to a verify page, meaning you have to enter a credit card number for any further access. Rub #1 - The webpage says that it won't charge me for anything unless I do not cancel my membership within a 5 day free trial period. There's the 2nd rub - free membership is not free, except for the first 5 days. No where can I find information about keeping a free membership...
Remember, my mission is to watch the first show of BBC's Sherlock.
So, ok, I enter my credit card number and complete registration. I, now, begin searching for the ADVERTISED Sherluck within the lilplay.com list. Rub #3/Lie #1 - There is "no such search results".
I try searching the first webpage that linked BBC's Sherluck. Nothing... Lie #2 ...getting the picture?
After searching several venues within each webpage, I decide to cancel my new membership 30 minutes later. I just don't think it's fair play to lead people on just so I can "check back with us tomorrow! We get new entries in everyday!")
Now, I try to cancel my membership. NO where in my confirmation email is there listed how or where I can cancel my membership. Checking in with Support or my Account are my options. So, I check my Account. Several scenario Q/A are listed, but NO how to cancel... I should add that a phone number to "chat" with someone was available, but it's after hours. Now, I'm quite frustrated. I actually don't remember how I found a cancel button, but that was confusing because the ONLY button for ANY cancellation was to a Premium Membership. I DID NOT have a Premium Membership!! All I signed up for was a free, NO charge membership. I click this button anyway, and I read that I don't have to cancel anything to keep my FREE membership?? Well, which one is it??
Now, I'm ticked as I realize I have been taken advantage of throughout this ordeal.
I click cancel, again, and again get another webpage. Now I have 2 options - I can choose expedited cancelation for .99 cents (!! pay to cancel!!??) OR I can risk being charged full Premium Membership BECAUSE cancelation takes up to 3 business days!??!!
I cannot phathom the loop holes within this rachet, but this is NOT right. At the very least, these 2 webpages are not disclosing honestly or fairly at the front, fraudulently claiming they had certain movies available, and the only way to find out is PAY for membership. At the worst, charging for cancelation because they just don't have enough time to be bothered by THEIR members is lieing before the fact.
I would, gladly, give my full name and contact information here, but RIPoffReport say not to...
It's impossible to read the fine print when there ISN'T any to read!!
