8/1/2018   Had Ford Expedition towed to Webb Ford.  Transmission hose had burst and all fluid leaked out.  AAA did towing.

8/9/2018 I received the vehicle back on Aug 8, 2018.  According to the invoice they replaced the transmission cooler lines, cleaned engine bay, performed road test and reported vehicle worked OK.

I left the dealer and drove to Merrillville and back (about 10 miles).  When I pulled into the garage I noticed the transmission was slipping badly.  I almost did not make it in the garage.

8/10/2018 1:23 PM  I returned to Webb Ford and requested that they tow my vehicle back at their cost, I also requested they provide someone to clean the garage floor of all the transmission fluid that had leaked out.  I was given some absorbent mats which did nothing.  Garage floor still has a large stain and I am not able to clean due to back surgery.

Upon arriving home and waiting for the tow company, II called Chase Bank to see if I could put a hold on the transaction as Webb had not solved the problem.  I was advised that I have to wait for transaction to post and then I could dispute the transaction.  I will contact Chase on Monday morning to file a dispute.

8/12/2018 Once the transaction posted I called Chase to inquire as to how to place a dispute this transaction due to dealer not fixing the problem and perhaps causing more damage in the process. Talked to Christy.  She took some basic info and connected me to the dispute team.  Took 3 minutes to do so.  Talked to Elijah.  I explained that what they repaired broke within 10 miles. He advised  I do not need to pay until dispute is rectified.

8/13/2018 3:12 PM - Stopped by Webb to take a look at what was done.  I questioned why the leak at the radiator was not noticed until AFTER they had "fixed" the transmission hose and after they had inspected it.  I maintain that they damaged the fitting and/or the radiator in installing the new hose.  Naturally they would "fix" the new problem for something over $1,000 (this after a special lower labor rate.)

He told me they would have to replace:

  1. Transmission line 7L1Z7B028C
  2. Radiator
  3. Transmission Fluid
  4. Radiator Coolant
  5. Labor to install

$1,120.75

Called Tim at CarsPlus, he would replace all the above for only :$882.00.  I have used CarsPlus for my auto repair work for over 25 years.  I do not know why I took the vehicle to Webb this time.  BIG MISTAKE.

Called State Farm Agent.  State Farm would cover the towing from Web to CarsPlus.  I should call the number on the back of the card and arrange for the tow.

8/14/2018 1:11 PM  Had Expedition towed FROM Webb Ford TO CarsPlus in Highland.  CarsPlus is going to repair the transmission hoses for about $300 less than Web.

8/16/2018 12:52 PM  Talked to Coco.  She transferred me to the dispute section. I talked to Benjamin.  He sees that I have disputed the Webb Charge.  He said they sent me a letter but I have not received it.  I should get it within 10 days.  I need to fill it out and send back.  In the mean time I just subtract the Webb amount from the amount owed and pay the difference.

CarsPlus had to replace the radiator.  Nipples where the transmission fluid enters the radiator for cooling were both crushed!  Webb said they were cracked and leaking but I have pictures showing the damage.  There appears to be no crack, just crushing of the nipples so they would not seal.  The Webb mechanic had to be blind, stupid, or crooked to not see fluid leaking out immediatley.
