I am a Soldier in the US Army, I recently had my Dodge Ram pickup towed to a local performance and auto repair shop in my town (Columbus, Indiana) The service that I had performed by the shop was an engine replacement.

The shop called me when the work on the truck was complete. I went to the shop to inspect the truck and pay my bill. When I got to the shop I was informed by the owner (Brad Wedan) that my truck had been damaged in the shop when it was lifted up to high on the vehicle lift. There was a dent going all the way across the top of the cab of my truck.

Mr. Wedan stated that he would have the dent repaired on the roof and have it back to the way it was (no dent). He stated that he would send it to the body shop and have it repaired. He also stated he would have them try paintless dent removal and if it didn't work have it repainted and body work done. I told him to make sure it is back to the original specs prior to the shop damaging it which was with no dent or sign of dent.

I tried contacting the shop several times to check on the status of the body work being done to my truck and left voicemails for the owner. I never was contacted back, this caused me to get a little worried so I had my wife call from her cell phone and someone answered. She stated that she was checking on the status of my truck, whomever she spoke with stated it was done and could be picked up the day was (17 January 2013).

When my wife and I arrived at Wedans, I went inside to get all the paperwork for the warranty that came with the Jasper engine that was installed by them. First off, the shop failed to put the production number and Stock number on the warranty paperwork that was given to me.

The next issue is that the shop owner had the dents pulled and no actual body work done. After I inspected the roof of my truck and saw this I told him that I was not satisfied with the work since there were still ripples in the roof of my truck which was not the way it was before it was damaged. I stated are you going to fix this the right way, Mr. Wedan stated it would take 2 more weeks and I would have to pay for the paintless dent removal. This isn't fair business dealing when they caused the damage and are liable for the repair.

I then went back into the shop and informed the owner that I am a Soldier in the US Army and that his business practice is not fair. He informed me that he didn't care who I am, even though I am the customer who just paid in full for the work on the engine. He told me to leave his shop in a threatining manner after I informed him I was going to be contacting an attorney.
