As I type this complaint I'm thinking to myself, am I doing this as a way to vent my anger? (possibly, I'm very angry). The bigger reason is to expose a bunch of egotistical lunkheads whose arrogance is unsurpassable even in the cummunist world. The other day I received a call from Principal Brett Burton. He stated to me that my 10 year old son was caught with a pocket knife in his pocket. He is immediatly suspended for 10 days, (WOW! I THOUGHT). Mr. Burton then advises me that he will be recommending expulsion for my son, (WOW-WOW WOW). I mentioned to him that expulsion is excessive since he is only 10 years old, and besides, he hasn't been in any prior trouble. Principal Burton then admits to me that expulsion is a long time,(possibly 3 weeks), but in a matter of fact voice says "THAT'S THE LAW". I asked him where I could read that law. He stated it would be found in the elementary school handbook,sd129.org. I go to the web site to look up the "LAW". NO "LAWS" are found regarding knives, only vague inconsistancies with penalties as little as 1 day inschool supension for elementary students, (page 25 a-2) I get on the phone again with Mr. Burton, I tell him that I don't see any "LAW". He informs me that there will be a hearing to decide about the expulsion.I tell him that I will be there to appeal the expulsion. He then states to me not to bother appealing because " no one ever wins with those guys", (the board members). It turned out that I could'nt make the meeting, but I called to have it postponed, I talked with Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ed Howerton who was also recommending the expulsion, he quickly denied my request to have it postponed. It should be noted that these 2 persons are old buddies who worked together in another district. As far as it sounds to me this hearing is already fixed, the verdict will be what ever the good old boys decide. They don't want to hear from a disgruntled parent. He gave me an excuse saying we need to move on with this hearing so my boy can get back to school. (WHAT IS THE HURRY WHEN YOU ARE EXPELLING HIM FOR 3 WEEKS ANYWAY).I live in Texas, if I was going to drive 1400 miles to be at the Kangaroo Court of good ol boys, then they could have waited for a concerned parent. I posted my complaint on a teacher complaint web site and sent some faxes to them opposing their arrogance. They didn't approve of my complaining.

I had wanted to add that the delicate district officials must have had their feelings hurt, when I opposed and complained. Intead of talking to me in a reasonable manner to explain the bases on why they are giving a 10 year old the maximun sentence, when lesser penalties are listed in the school hand book. How would you think they (EDUCATED PROFFESIONALS WITH DEGREES INCLUDING DOCTORATE) HANDLE THE SITUATION? They go on with their kangaroo court hearing, leaving me out of it since they wouldn't postpone it to wait for me, (coming from Texas). THEN THEY SUSPEND MY OTHER SON FOR 5 DAYS!!!! This occuring at the exact same time of the hearing for my other son. As if to send a message to me to shut my mouth, and not complain. This second suspention, the result of a surprise WITCH HUNT on my 14 year old son. The WITCH HUNT which yielded a lighter (my son tells me it wasn't his, it was planted on him), and song lyrics from hip-hop said to be associated with (gangs). This behavior coming from a school disrict apparently run by thugs in suits is unacceptable! Dr. Jim Rydland, Dr. Ed Howerton, Brett Burton, Deborah Myers, and anyone else in the district cartel. What will be next event to further harass and violate the cival rights of my family. We already know your district discriminates against hispanics, (my children are part hispanic). I know you all will band together to discuss how to defend my allegations. You will deny all of them because you are professional liars. What will be harder to defend is your school handbook sd129.org, specifically page 25 a-2 which states that an elementary student can be suspended inschool for a period for 1 day for possesion of a knife. I'm asking for help from the public to keep these bullies from further harassment. I demand these penalties be expunged from my childrens records, and help for them to catch up on missed work. Also no further suspentions or expulsions until the handbook is clarified and updated. The schools involved are Washington and Nicholson. Thank You
