If you recently applied for a car title loan, within or outside of the state of Florida, and the company providing the loan was eTitle Loan, or any company owned by Whetstone Partners, LLC, chances are that you may be a victim of fraud, tortious conduct, and/or forced insurance in the form of “Debt Cancellation Insurance.”
It seems that the MO of this company is to use a Tablet to have the trusting client sign a contract that they are never shown. The client is told to click on certain parts, delineated on the Tablet, all while the Whetstone agent purportedly advises you as to what you are agreeing with and that everything he is representing will “later” be delivered to the client (actual contract) by email. They assure you that the same terms were on the contract as was being discussed verbally, they fail to disclose that every time you click on the tablet you are actuallysigning a contract electronically, a contract that has never been revealed to you!
The very moment you call Whetstone, they already calculate Debt Cancellation Insurance into the monthly payment; they never ask you if you have property damage insurance, as it seems that forced insurance is the real money maker of this organized scheme to defraud.
If you have been victimized by this company, we will soon provide steps you can and should take towards protecting yourself and others that may, sooner than later, be victimized by this organized fraud operating with impunity within many states. Their license can be pulled in an instant, as they are in violation of many state and federal laws, and their arbitration agreements will not hold in court, as their “arbitration clause” is void and unenforceable, if obtained by fraud “in the inception”; in other words, if you were deceived as to the nature of the act you were performing when you clicked on that tablet, that you could not read, then there is no valid and enforceable contract!
Stay tuned, as we will soon be providing possible solutions to this fraud.

As a consumer activist, very well known in the world of foreclosure defense, I have to say that Whetstone did listen to my complaints and went out of its way to find a solution. I wish I could say so much for other entities out there that are deaf to consumer complaints. All in all, I can say that Whetstone is a company for which many consumers in financial need could certainly use in todays economy.

I also filed a complaint against Whetstone with the State of Florida, I was curious if anything has progressed with your case. Also was wondering about the class action portion of this complaint. Everything in your report is spot on with what happened to myself.

We attempted to negotiate with this arrogant company to no avail. If you have been victimized, in the state of FL, you will soon have help, as we are using a consumer activist legal network to get their license revoked. As for immediate action, you should start by notifying the consumer protection services of the FL AG;s office, you can file a complaint online at: http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact?OpenForm&Section=Consumer_Protection_Division
You can also file a complaint with the federal Consumer Protection Financial Bureau at: https://help.consumerfinance.gov/ You should also file with the Financial regulations office of your state, in FL you can file at: http://www.flofr.com/StaticPages/FileAComplaint.htm
We will soon be listing the attorneys name here and the contact info, stay tuned for we will not stop until these criminals are brought to justice! Also, if you are an elederly and was victimized by this economic crime, then you should also contact your local Sheriffs office and file a criminal complaint for the issues that were committed against your particular case... such as fraud on the inception; forced insurance; contract fraud; and economic crimes on the elderly.
