If you are considering using this company's services and have not yet signed the paperwork, DON'T. I've done business with a lot of companies and have never experienced the rudeness and incompetence I've experienced with Whetstone Partners/etitleloan.
First, I've never received my loan documentation because they input my email address incorrectly. The email address they input was nothing even close to my email address. Only an idiot could make the mistakes they made inputting my email address. I was never told about the loan origination fee ($300).
Second, they give you three methods of payment: MoneyGram (which costs an additional $10), giving them a credit/debit card (I'll never give this company any of my banking information), or by walking a money order into a Bank of America branch and depositing it into their bank account. I have chosen option 3 for my payments. You would think there wouldn't be a problem. A money order is guaranteed money--I've paid cash and a respected financial institution has written a check for me. After making my payment, I call them and give them the transaction number (which is the procedure they require).
However, despite what is said on their paperwork, they don't credit the account right away. They NOTATE the account and wait for the bank to pass the information along. I've spoken to the bank and the bank has told me that the funds are deposited into their account immediately (because even they have said a money order is a guaranteed payment). However, the clowns at etitleloan say it takes a minimum of two days for the payment to post. This makes no sense to me.
Third, all of my payments have been made on time (as evidenced by the deposit slips I have in my possession reflecting the date and time of the deposit) but their ledger shows every payment as being late and every single month I receive dunning phone calls from them, 2 or 3 a day. When I call them on their misrepresentation, they discontinue communication. Last month, my payment was on time, yet their records say it was late and they charged me extra interest. This is unacceptable to me.
Now, after reading all the other complaints on this site, I'm concerned that I will not get my title back. Therefore, I am contacting the FTC and initiating a complaint with them about this company. Their business practices are unconscionable and I swear to God, I'm going to come out of this with THEM writing ME a check for a change.
I will update this report when I successfully file a complaint with the FTC but I would urge anyone reading this to file a complaint. It's the only way to bring them to heel. I've testified for the FTC before (in a mortgage assistance fraud case) and I know they have the ability to close them down. So that's what I'm going with and I urge anyone reading this report to do the same.

I am faxing my complaint in today. I would urge anyone and everyone who has had problems with this company to draft a comlaint and mail or fax it to:
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
P.O. Box 4503
Iowa City, Iowa 52244
FAX (855) 237-2392
If they get enough complaints they will act. If we, the "screwed over consumers" band together, I am hopeful and optimistic that we can shut this company down. Their business practices are unethical at best and this company needs to just go away. Their employees are incompetent and rude, and probably illiterate which is why this was probably the only job they could get.
Please, anyone who is dissatisfied with their experiences with this company, please take the time to file a complaint. You can also file online at consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
Please note that the online form has a character limit of 3900 characters. My complaint is more than twice that amount so I am faxing it in.
Let's all band together and protect those who could be us in the future.

I have written my own negatory review of this company as well and am curious as I read other reports on this company as to whether there is an update reguarding the FTC idea. Please advise if a case or class action has been started. Maybe if we all ban together something can actually be done!
Thank you :)
