Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchased a vehicle from White Sands Auto Sales in Fort Walton Beach in July of 2009.

I was given a brief history of the vehicle and discovered that A/C did not work, front passenger side window did not work, the headliner was rotten with mold and mildew, the carpet was dirty and had a smell of cat urine.

I was told after that they would repair what was wrong because these things were working.

Also Rick the salesperson stated that they had put in a new transmission, but the transmission was not working properly.

I kept calling them and showing up to get the repairs done and they would never have time to do it.

The vehicle stopped on me a half a block from the car lot and I walked down their to get some assistance in starting it. They got it started and I drove it to the lot to speak to the manager are so-called owner Russell.

I told Russell that this car is not worth $2300.00 and would like to bring them some more money to put toward a better vehicle, are return my money. He responded that I could not afford what he sold me and I am not going to return your money.

I responded with I thought you all were Christians and walked out and slammed the door, I looked behind me and Russell was walking behind me cursing that he was going to kick my a**.

I turned around with my fist up and he ran back up the steps hollering for me to leave the car here and I told him no I was not walking home.

Since the altercation I have contacted the Sheriff's Department, the Better Business Bureau, and the State Attorney General's office.

Since then they have responded to the BBB complaint with lies and has tried to reversed the true facts of the whole situation.

White Sands Auto Sales needs to be ran out of business, because they are selling junk while the government is trying to get rid of clunkers.

This company can be shut down with your cooperation, they continuously sell the consumer junk and when you return it they put a Band Aid on it and sell it to the next victim.

Since then I have put a used starter on the car but was told by the mechanic are maintenanceman that it was a solenoid, I even took it to a mechanic and he said the old starter was wired wrong and the linkage to the transmission is not hooked up right and that is very dangerous.

I stated everything that transpired during my ordeal at White Sands. I was desperate, because the vehicle I had before was repossesed. I came up with all the money that I could come up with for a downpayment. Do you have some extra money I could get for a downpayment? I purchased the vehicle with the verbal agreements that was made to me by Rick the sales person, that they would make the repairs that I had questioned them about. I signed the papers and drove the vehicle for a few days and started having problem after problem and everytime I would stop by to get the problems solved they would not have time. Russell the one that verbally and physically threatned me did not agree to put me in a better vehicle until I contacted the BBB.

Now on occassions I run into Russell and he can't even hold his head up and look me in the eye, what does that tell you? People seem to have different interpretations of situations and things that occur as if they have the answers to all the problems. If you had the answers this World's problems it would not be in the condition it is in. Until people can start being honest and truthful with each other this world will not get any better. Dishonesty, deceit, selfishness and greed will bring this would to an end sooner than we think. Any one that supports White Sands and other dishonest dealers are just as sick, blind and neive as they are. What occurred at white sands is what criminals call switching the bait.

Since then my supervisor at work loaned a 94 Ford Explorer, 3 years newer than the junk White Sands sold me and it caught on fire.

Next Time Buy From a Private Owner

Diane is right. I see $2k -3k cars that appear to be much better than the junkheap you bought. It wasn't even worth a $100 detail job to the dealer and if you had a burning desire to buy it you shouldn't have taken delivery until the things wrong with it were fixed.

Next time look around at private owner sales as long as you are paying cash. You can get a history of the car and if you don't like it you can walk. Also the price may be more negotiable. It you buy a $2300 car from a used car dealer and it is in the physical condition of the one you bought it is guaranteed to be junk.

After reading this report in reference to White Sands Auto Sales and knowing what I do about the owners of the business, I feel that there must be more to this story than Mack is willing to tell.

First of all, if he was given a brief history on the vehicle and knew that all of those things were wrong with the vehicle.....why did he purchase the vehicle to begin with!!!  Was he really that hard up for a vehicle that he could not have put a down payment down on the vehicle and requested that the repairs be made before he purchased the vehicle?  Why in the world would you buy a vehicle that had a smell of cat urine in it?

Knowing the owners of the business like I do, if you had more money for a down payment, they would have tried their best to put you into something different.  White Sands Auto Sales has been in business for a good number of years and have always tried to treat all their customers with the upmost respect but there are some people that just think that when they buy a used car that it should ran like a new one and have no problems with them.

Used cars are sold with "As is - no warranty".  And it means just that!!!  Mack -- what was the deal in the first place?  Why were you in such a hurry to purchase a vehicle that you could not have taken the time to check out the vehicle?  Did you have your car repossessed or what?

Before you go filing a report like this as to being ripped off by a business.....you need to report the truth.....not false statements!!!!
