Approx 3 months ago I purchased a used 2005 Lotus Elise for $52,900 from Wilde Jaguar in Sarasota Florida. Before purchasing this vehicle I asked Chris Irving, the salesman on 3 occasions if the car had the SPORT package. He insisted all 3 times that it did.

Not only have I found the car does not have the SPORT package but it was also sold to me for about $6K more then I could have purchased a new one for.

I still have not received the books for the vehicle. I had to wait 3 weeks for a gas cap. It was also missing the air filter.

I have called and stopped the dealership many times to try and rectify this situation. I spoke with the manager Dale and his boss Wade Tucker. Both of which treated gave me the Suck for you" Attitude. Chris Irving will not return my phone calls and is convienently not around whenever I show up.

I know this happens to people from time to time but at a high end dealership such as a Wilde dealership I cannot believe it.

I would like to recoup at least $2500 for the price difference of the SPORT package that I was told it had. Thank You.

In 1989 I purchased a new Dodge Caravan CV (no windows) and prior to the purchase had several questions about the vehicle and options. . [1]Dealer one-Q.:"Does the trailer towing option include a lower final drive (gear)?" A.: "Gee I don't know. No one's ever asked that before". [2]Is the van available without a window in the slider door? A.: "No They all have slider door windows. Slider doors are available with windows only" WRONG! ! . [2]Dealer two:Q.:"Does the trailer towing option include a lower final drive (gear)?" A:"What would you want to know that for"? Q:"Is the van available with the rear trimmed out?" A:"Golly, I think so." WRONG! Q": Just what does the Royal interior option include"? A:"Uhhhh...better seats I think" A poor idoitic, inaccurate, totally incomplete description. . With exceptions, of course, I view the average new car salesman as a waste of the air they breathe. I didn't initially get so far as to even get into the gut wrenching negotiations that trip. . I ultimately did ORDER and receive the van of my choice, and when I came in to pay the previously Order time) agreed-upon price.....well that's a whole 'nother story. I got beat down by three sales staff members who took alternate turns so they could remain fresh. I ultimately got my agreed upon deal, and was so worn down I pulled over and hurled on the way home. . I would welcome a root canal in exchange for the purposful stress to which I was deliberately subjected on that extorsion......errrr....sale. . These pseudo "salesmen" were busy reading the newspaper, working crossword puzzles, shooting the $hit among themselves as I entered. I felt an uneasyness as being viewed as a distraction from their current playtime. . NONE of the above responded:"Gee, I don't know. Just a minute and I'll get that information for you". I wasn't dressed to kill, but I had a $16.5K check in my pocket, as I had determined it would be close to that. I was sort of the "invisable man" in the sales corridor. . Gee, I'd hate to see anyone get off their a$$ and actually conduct a sale displaying even a modicum of product knowledge. I was, however handed a couple of sales brochures that didn't address my questions, I suspect to shut me up and get me moving on.

I can not believe that you are blaming the salesman and the dealership for your inability as a negotiator. If you would have done your homework before buying the car, this would not have happened. A purchase/investment of that amount should always be researched. You should have known what the "Sport package" included instead of relying on someone else's opinion. This should be a lesson for you and all the people out there signing blank contracts or not reading and then blaming others. READ BEFORE YOU SIGN!!!
