This complaint is about Manor Village Apartments located at 1717 Alabama Avenue, SEWashington, DC 20020 Did not fix apartments, didn't care to. Mice infestation, roach infestation and gas leakage. Apartment had many problems. The roof fell in, the dining room area leaked. Maintenance was slow in fixing problems. Would not advise anyone to move there. Management only cares about the rent - nothing more. Some of those apartment buildings needs to be condemned. Even though they had an exterminator come in and spray the whole complex - there were so many roaches they were hanging off the doors and coming in four to five at a time. Not only that, I lost a lot of personal items due to mice droppings. To top it off, I found a mice dropping inside my purse. It got so bad, my daughter had an anxiety attack. My other daughter almost ate a roach. If it wasn't for the fact that she looked down at her plate, she would have eaten it. I complained to the Consumer and Regulatory Affairs personnel, but one individual was so busy telling me how she knew them personally and that they could not be sued. It's a shame that people are made to live this way and that all management cares about is the rent. I was traumatized and so was my family behind the fact that we lived like we were in the jungle. According to the law, your apartment is supposed to be habitable - which means no rats, mice, roaches, gas leaks etc. 1717 Alabama Avenue, SE, Washington 20020 DC

Manor Village Apartments have roach infestation, mice infestation and stoves that leak gas.  Management only cares about collecting the rent.  The outside of the apartments are very nice, however the inside is a different matter.  I lost a lot of personal items due to mice droppings.  I even had a mice dropping inside my purse.  Even though they exterminated, I found roaches hanging off the doors and outside in the hallway.  Not only that, they would be out on the sidewalk.  There was no security.  Someone always broke the lock to the entrance door constantly.  People would break into your mailbox.  It was a horrible experience.  Leaking roof, falling ceiling.  I would not advise anyone to move into this place.
