After watching an info commercial one night, I came across an ad by "Wipe New". The company claims its product is able to revitalize the interior and exterior of you car's sun damaged areas. I was interested so I decided to place an order on September 3. 2012.
As I continued through the various steps that it takes to place an online purchase, I came to the last page which, once you confirm your order upon your review of the items purchased, you then click "confirm" which will then process your order.
Well, my first issue is in regards to the fraudulent way that online transactions are handled by the company. You see, once I reached the confirmation page, I noticed that the shipping for a 19.99 product was 15.00. Obviously, I felt that pricing too extreme for me thus, I did not confirm my order. Instead, I simply cancelled my purchase request and closed my window on my computer.
So as far as I knew, I cancelled the order, would not be charged (because I didn't confirm) and all was complete, right? Wrong.
As I said in the beginning, the original order I cancelled on September 3. 2012 was, in fact, not cancelled. I noticed on Monday, September 9, 2012, after checking my online bank statements, I was very shocked to see that the company went ahead and processed a order I know for sure I cancelled anyway.
Instead of making a huge deal out of the matter, I decided to just allow the shipment to arrive.
My main issues of concern are:
- the fact that the company, without my consent, processed my credit card and charged me a total of 35.70
- the initial unauthorized transaction was taken on Sept. 3,2012, however my debit card was charged 5 whole days later on, Sept. 8, 2012!
- after realizing my card had been charged and an email was sent to me with a invoice that included a tracking number and a link to track the status of my order, I clicked the FedEx link at the bottom and was redirected to the FedEx website where I found absolutely nothing.
- after contacting FedEx in hopes of gaining knowledge of the status of my package, I was told they had nothing to give me. Obviously, they are the shipping company and there wasn't much more they could do to help me. I was then told to contact the shipper, Wipe New and so I did so.
- after my first call to the company on September 8, 2012, I was told it would take 48 hours for the tracking information to be updated. After the 48 hour period and still no information on the FedEx website, I contacted Wipe Ne w again on September 10, 2012 to try and figure out why I was unable to track my unauthorized order still. I was told by a representative that due to the weekend, the 48 hr. time frame had yet to be reached.
- now today. The first representative I spoke to was incompetent, rude and extremely difficult to deal with. She went so far as to completely hang up on me!
- after calling back immediately and explaining my frustration because of the treatment I had received seconds ago, another representative was unable to give me any information as to where my package was. Nothing. She told me she didn't know and that I needed to contact FedEx, something I'd already had done. Plus, it's not fedex's job to do the work of various companies in terms of shipments. They are the messenger and nothing more. Wipe New is responsible for giving me, at the very least, tracking information on my product. They did not.
Lastly, it was quit obvious to me that something fishy was going on with this company and it's business practices. So finally I was able to speak with a superviser who again, recited the same things to me. They basically knew nothing and at this point, because I had invested too much of my time in attempting to track my prepaid package, I was offered a "deal" to have the 7.99 fee waived for my trouble. I did not accept and explained to the representative that, at the point, all I want is a refund. The superviser complied with my request (TBD), she then told me it may take an additional 5 business days to receive my refund.
All I wanted was to try a seemingly unique product however, after realizing the cost of shipping, I decided otherwise but as I aid initially, I was charged anyway. That fact in unto itself is cause for major concern and I need help so that this fraudulent company does not continue stealing and taking advantage of unsuspecting persons.
Please help me get these guys off the air and possibly out of business. They are obviously kurupt and I am willing to do what ever it takes to take these guys down.
Thanks, I hope to hear from you soon.
PS - I will keep you updated on the refund I was told I would receive.
