Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Being recently laid off, (in this tough economy) I was spending hours job searching.

Then, I came across this:

**********************************************

Description

It wasn't that long ago that I was in your shoes Sending out resumes to every place that would take them. Wondering if they received my resume or if somehow it got lost in cyberspace

-Should I email it again, or is that annoying?

-Why is there no number to check the status?

-Why do entry-level positions require 3-5 years of experience?

-Does my position at Outback count for sales experience?

-Do they mean "business professional" experience?

-Should I include that one job at the law firm?

That was professional but I quit after 2 days...

-If not, does that make me pre entry-level?

-Is "pre entry-level" even an option on the scroll down menu?

-And how much does this position that I don't qualify for pay anyway?

-Why can't they just put the salary on the ad?

-That must mean it doesn't pay much, right?

-And if they do, why is there always a huge range?

Does that mean it is commission?

-I really want to call about the compensation, but is that going to give the wrong impression?

-Doesn't matter, there is no number anyway!

Job hunting can be stressful, that's why it's best to find a career. The candidates we hire have (2) choices.

1. Start entry-level, develop a ton of transferable skills, work side by side w/ quality people, and the world's leading corporations, advance to new positions, make money, and along the way figure out what you really want to be when you grow up.

2. Start entry-level, begin advancing, become a partner and never job hunt again.

Woah! That's me! I STUPIDLY thought. Pumped, I applied. It was 3:35pm

Did I find it odd that Sonia called me at 5:30pm? I should have. Infact, deep down I did.

But, I'm unemployed...and the website looked amazing...and really, who doesn't want to do sports marketing!?

Sonia (if that was her real name) set up an interview for me the next day (squeezing me in).

At 12:15pm I entered the building and was immediately skeptical at the tattered and torn exterior. Why wouldn't a company that's doing so great not have a better location? Hmmm.

Upon entering the s%^th*le - I noticed the name "World Accesss Marketing" didn't appear anywhere on the building directory. Sketch point # 2.

As I walked through the building (following the ghetto paper signs) I started to think the other tenants had absconded into the night, leaving wires and other remnants of an office behind. Bizarre.

I was then reminded of my conversation with Sonia - "We just moved into a new building". OK, free pass on this one.

The office for "World Access Marketing" contained a reception area (which to my surprise was playing the unedited version of "Talledega Nights" on a flat screen TV....vulgarity and all). I was greeted by Maria (who I have to say sounded oddly like Sonia).

I was given a sheet to fill out that asked about my hobbies, 3 credible references and my basic information.

"Paul" - also known as an ugly man in a plaid suit was running late - and would be with me soon.

Paul Malcom finally finished up his previous "interview" (with someone who looked like a made for TV actor). I was led into the shanty that I assumed to be his office.

Inside I was immediately drawn to the ridiculous decor - which Paul commented on. Paul claimed they (World Access Marketing) single-handedly marketed for the MLB, NBA, NFL etc. etc. etc.

Looking closely at the plaques that adorned Paul's wall -- I knew this was a scam. The printing was garbage - and looking around the office I did not see ONE personal item for "Paul". The plaques could have been made by one of the trophy shops at the mall - except then they might have looked nicer.

Paul told me all about the impressive work they do here at WAM - then said the wait for WAM to represent your company was "2 1/2 years". Really? Two and a half year? Really? No.

A second and third interview was alluded to. Money was never discussed, but based on what I saw of the place - I came guarantee the pay was $9 under the table.

Paul promised to have Maria...or was it Sonia? call me later on -- but that was one call I ignored.

This place is a COMPLETE scam --- and the people who work there are trained con-artists.

Dear Kingboston I am sorry that you had a bad experience interviewing for a position with World Access Marketing. However, I am very shocked at the lack of professionalism you display in your blog. Dynasty; which is not affiliated with World Access Marketing, is a reputable company accredited by the BBB. Dynasty focuses on increasing foot traffic in order to drastically improve our client's incremental sales. We accomplish this without compromising the integrity of our clients' reputation and with no front end or back end cost to them. We design, develop and market aggressive promotional ad campaigns in the form of print media. We also target the consumer using a unique, professional one on one presentation in order to maximize the amount of business we generate for our clients. Dear Rhodeiguy Dynasty acquired the building located in Burlington, MA in October of 2008. Dynasty is not affiliated with World Access Marketing; and we do not follow any practices of that company. For any potential candidate that is interested in a marketing position we strongly recommend that you attempt to get a first round interview. You will then be given the opportunity to meet with a Director of Operations to get accurate information, discuss your potential, and learn more about our great career opportunities. Dear Alyssa, Dynasty in no way tried to take advantage of you or anyone that is employed with the company. Unfortunately, loyalty is a word too often forgotten about in today's corporate environment. At Dynasty, loyalty is the backbone of the way we do business. We ensure that our staff is taken care of and provided with opportunity for advancement with great career satisfaction. Dynasty represents the biggest and best name brands in the world. Therefore, our training program is challenging and thorough because we ensure that our staff is professional and prepared to handle the demand of our clients. At Dynasty we are committed to driving results and maximizing the amount of business we generate for them. That is why our clients work with us and continue to outsource their needs to us. Unfortunately, not everyone has the work ethic and leadership qualities that are necessary to be successful at a company like ours. Dynasty offers great compensation packages that range from salary based, performance based, and hourly based, depending on the position you apply for and your skills and qualifications. At Dynasty, we have a 3 step interviewing process which gives our company a chance to further evaluate the candidate, but also allows the candidate to make sure the company is a good fit for them. Alyssa, you went through that process, started with the company, and after 2 weeks of working here clearly did not exhibit the ability to keep up with the fast paced and exhilarating culture of our industry. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. We hope that you find a position that is more suited for your skill sets. ** The company policy is to correct and clarify the misleading information found in this blog only once, there will be no follow up posts from our company**

In response to the report above, yes it is a scam. I worked there for two weeks and realized i was being used and taken advantage of by this "Dynasty" company. It was slave labor really you were not being paid a specific amount everyday like they said and they tried to make everything sound like it was amazing and the pay was great when really it was crap. You get paid $50 a day workin a 12 hour day pretty much its horrible. They say its not commission when it really is and they changed their name? thats a little ridiculous that one person knew it as dynasty and the other as WAS. Weird. They are extremely unprofessional and if you want to hire people and be respected you would not have a movie on like taledega nights while interviewing. When i went they had music on real loud and specifically there was the song birthday sex on which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Im glad its workin out for your family i really am but the whole thing is ridiculous to me.

out side point of view... i read the reports that people have submitted, and they don't make sence to me. first let me state i don't work there!!!! my fence does. and ya i heard the building is new, not so great. but if you think about it, your a small business starting out in our economy! i would expect you place to look lil crappy unless you rob a bank and had money. they don't ask for money. the only thing they ask is that you come in dressed up (suit!) and yes you get paid. my man is bringing home around 500-700.+ a week he supports me and our 4 kids .... yes it a hard job you have to apply your self like anything else in this world. if you cant handle it don't work there. it not like your tied into a contract you cant get out of... but my opinion no its not a scam. as long as your making money. you don't pay out of your pocket. its a great opportunity, oh , please explain how its a scam? cause all i read was it didn't look good and someone had a plaid suit?

Today I was called by Sonia, from the same number and given the same address. Only this time the Company is called Dynasty. Nothing more. The company did not show up on Google, nor did it's website have any legal information. Also, the company sent me a confirmation E-mail from a Yahoo account, and not it's own domain name - BIG TIP OFF THAT IT IS A SCAM. I'm glad I found this before I wasted an entire afternoon and gas going there. Here is the company's new URL: http://www.d-sty.com/
