I replied to a financial services ad on Craigslist and sent in my resume. About an hour later I received a call from a guy that said he worked with World Financial Group and his manager, Christian, liked my resume and he would like to see me for an interview. I accepted the interview, but immediately did research on the company after I got off the phone. I ran into a bunch of websites like this one so I decided to call the phone number the guy on the phone gave me to cancel the appointment. The same guy I spoke with answered his phone simply by saying "Hello?". This threw up more red flags for me; what company answers their phone by simply saying "hello". I asked the guy if he said "hello" (as I couldn't beleive a company would answer their phones in that manner), and he said "yes...hello. This is Christian." This guy who called me was actually Christian, but he was pretending to be the receptionist when he first contacted me. I asked him about this fact, and he stumbled over his own words making up excuses as for why he would lie. i immediately told him I was cancelling the interview. This guy, Christian, called me back a few minutes later trying to convince me to come to the interview, and I expressed to him that I didn't want to get involved in a Multi Level Marketing Company (as my research indicated). A few minutes later I received the following email from Christian:

"Ken,

I spoke to you earlier about our company.

We do not multilevel marketing.

we are number one security broker/dealer in the world.

You just judge a book by it cover.

People spend time reporting negatively about good company.( BBB)

I did not try to stop you when you said ,you made some research on my company...

Me too use to own a marketing business with 18 employees. I closed that to focus on my financial career with WFG. I haven't seen any company out there like WFG ken.

Our company is the best place for you to apply your financial skills with.

Sincerely,

Christian

CEO: World business USA, llc"

For a guy who claims he is the CEO of a company in his signature, he has the worst writing I have ever seen. The only sentance without grammatical errors in it is the first sentance! I am certain that any accredited financial service would never hire even a temporary admin with writing skills that are this poor. I have yet to find a firm that will even consider an entry level applicant who doesn't have a BS in Business, Eonomics, or Finance with a minimum GPA of 3.2, and this illiterate guy is their CEO!!??? I would be shocked if this guy has aything above a GED. If this guy is the CEO, then I should be the emperor of the universe. Not to mention, since when does a company aggresively try to get people to try and come in for an interview to the point of attempting to send nasty emails after someone says they are not interested? I am certain it is because they have a administrative fee of some sort.

Now this company might have some good qualities; I'm sure it didn't become a fortune 500 company because what they are doing doesn't work. But it seems very shady, and don't expect to get a legit job in finance applying here.
